An old Disc Golf basket turned this tree into a lightning rod. Lightning struck this beautiful Yellow Poplar and fried all the phones in my home. Lexi looks on as I take the pic.

I took this photograph during a recent storm. The photo was taken at 10 pm when it was very dark. I figured that if I left the shutter open until a bolt of lightning hit then I might get lucky. I did. Not a perfect picture, but my first attempt (and some what success) at lightning.
Not very good at this lightning thing, but a nasty, lightning infused storm moved through northern Vanderburgh County on 7/3.

When lightning struck our neighbour's house, a beam from their balcony was thrown 40 feet and landed on our doorstep. Other debris littered the driveway, but our Vespa was spared.
My first night attempting to catch lightning. I used my Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS with editing in GIMP.
