An old Disc Golf basket turned this tree into a lightning rod. Lightning struck this beautiful Yellow Poplar and fried all the phones in my home. Lexi looks on as I take the pic.
I took this photograph during a recent storm. The photo was taken at 10 pm when it was very dark. I figured that if I left the shutter open until a bolt of lightning hit then I might get lucky. I did. Not a perfect picture, but my first attempt (and some what success) at lightning.
Cloud lightning from a thunderstorm south of Clinton, IL. I like how the illuminated the clouds. It was clear enough so you could see the stars still.

We had a bit of a lightning storm last night. This about all the lightning I could capture from my driveway. The main part of the storm went to the west of us, but it rained pretty good for a while.

1st try at capturing lightning.. I didn't correct the white balance, I like the tints of blue & purple.
