Lightning McQueen did for a client's sons birthday. I used pearl mixed with red paint to give the car the sparkle look the character got in radiator springs.
A lightning storm is a rare occasion here in the North West, but tonight we had several good shows. I was able to catch a few of them before the storm moved out of range.
This lightning was photographed during severe storms on April 8, 2006 in southside Birmingham, facing east.

A few minutes After passing a car on the Tanami near the Sturt Creek Crossing, I came upon this fire which had started by the road not so long before - possibly by someone in the car I had just passed. The fire was heading beside Sturt Creek in the direction of the Billiluna Community. There are a lot of fires throughout the Kimberley at this time of the year which is not good for a lot of the flora and fauna and fills the sky with smoke and haze for days on end. An idea of the extent and timing of fires across the top end of Australia can be seen at:
www.firenorth.org.au/nafi3/ (Link is to the Kimberley section of the site).
This fire must have burnt out overnight as it did not show on the website link above.

The lightning is vivid & constant, the thunder is loud and often. Watch me get spooked by a clap of thunder during the middle of the video. LOL! 37 storm cells formed in Massachusetts today, 7 created EF2 Tornado's in the western part of the state. This is 4:33 seconds of one cell that lasted less than 10 mins. Needless to say they moved hard & fast.
