You don't know what you did, did to me

Your body language, speaks to me

I can make it hurricane on it

Hunnid bands, make it rain on it

Tie it up, put a chain on it

Make you tattoo my name on it, oh

Make you cry like a baby, yeah

"For last year's words belong to last year's language,

And next year's words await another voice.

What we call the beginning is often the end

And to make an end is to make a beginning.

The end is where we start from."

As the year comes to a close, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you and abundant gratitude to all of my Flickr friends for helping me find my voice in my first year here. Your kind and generous comments about my photos and my writing, your thoughtful feedback, your support and encouragement, and your friendship, truly mean a lot to me.

And as a new year begins, I wish for each of you a year that brings good health, great joy, many moments of beauty, and days full of light and hope.

The Great Blasket Island is one of the remotest parts of the Irish Language Speaking area of Corca Dhuibhne. Although deserted since 1953 it is famous for the abundance of literature produced by the Irish speaking inhabitants who will live on forever through the documentation by them of the extraordinary details of their ordinary lives

VALPUESTA - Burgos

There was a bishopric here from the year 804 until 1087.

The diocese of Valpuesta was formed after the Islamic conquest of the Iberian Peninsula, dismantling the diocese of Oca towards Valdegovía.

From the Collegiate Church of Santa María, built from the hermitage of the ninth century, come the Cartularios de Valpuesta, the first document that contains words written in Spanish.

Wish you a splendid weekend:)

Bellis symbolism:

innocence, purity, rebirth and new beginnings.

The genus name “Bellis” is the Latin word for “pretty” or “beautiful”.

The common name “Daisy” is a corruption of “Days Eye” and refers to the way that the flower closes at night and opens in the day, because at night the petals close over the yellow center and during the day they re-open.

The Hidden Language of theRoses

The Rose blooms are delicious creatures ! Not just because they are fragrant. Not just because they have magical colours and forms. Not just because the moment you stare at them, you are transferred to other , better worlds. Not just because they have an aura with divine energy around them!

But also, because, the moment you are found in the middle of your blooming garden, the Roses with their blooming blooms, captivate SO much your strong attention, that you… forget to… eat when you are hungry, you forget your tasks of the day, you forget your appointments, your calls!! The only thing you want, is to go very close to them and “see” them with all your being and your senses!! To capture their Divine Beauty, because you know it is ephemeral, like all physical things…In order to have them by your side when the winter approaches, with its loooong dark, cold days, while themselves have already started hibernating until your new rendezvous in the coming Spring…

❤️You can admire here the magnificent Rose bloom of a David Austin Rose : Grace !! Her blooms’ form and apricot color harmony, are especially attractive and original!

"Sabiá Laranjeira" ,bird symbol of the state of São Paulo.

In Tupi (the indigenous language of Brazil), "sabiá" means “the one who prays a lot”, in reference to the voice of this bird. According to an indigenous legend, when a child hears the song of the sabiá in the early morning hours of spring, they will be blessed with peace, love and happiness.

just because

Meet little Talifa.

A tricolor cat with piercing green eyes. If she could speak a language known to us, she would probably have a lot to tell. Not only humans suffer from war. Animals do as well.

When I lost my soul cat Feli unexpectedly after an operation, I felt mostly… lost. A couple of months after her death, I started looking at little creatures in need of a new home. Feli had taught me that love and caring for others mean the most. Still, I was not intending to adopt. The pain was too raw.

But then I saw a photo of little Talifa while browsing online for cats “nearby.” It turned out she was not nearby at all. She was over 2,000 km away from me, in a shelter in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Many animals evacuated from the frontline have found shelter there. In the photos and a video on the website, I saw a small, sad-looking, almost miserable little cat — and I realized that I could not stop thinking about her.

Eventually, I contacted a German animal protection organization that worked together with the shelter in Kharkiv. To make a long story short, I was allowed to adopt Talifa. Before being sent on her long journey, she had to undergo an operation in which all of her teeth had to be removed. After a recovery phase, she — along with other companions in need — traveled to Germany. They started on a Monday and arrived late on Wednesday evening.

I received a message in Ukrainian: “Hello, we will bring you a cat.” I will never forget how a huge truck stopped in front of my door. Along with some documents, I was handed little Talifa — a tiny, thin, and incredibly hungry cat. She had been shaved and looked even smaller than she actually was. She stepped out of the carrier and immediately began to purr — but once I showed her her food bowl, that clearly became the most important thing in the world.

Now her fur has grown back healthy and dense. She still has a great appetite, and I think I have earned her trust by now. In the beginning, every touch made her nervous. Today, always on her own terms, she lets me know when she wants to play — and sometimes her trust is great enough for her to snuggle up to me.

Talifa was rescued and sheltered by Animal Rescue Kharkiv (ARK). So many animals in need have been saved by incredibly brave and caring people there. This organization should not go unseen. I try to donate regularly, and I will do my very best to care of little Talifa — who was saved by people who risked their own lives to do so. And I also know that some of them lost their lives doing so.

I often wonder where Talifa lived, who her owners were, and what happened to them. And what she might have experienced without ever being able to understand it. We both lost something and had to start anew. I can only hope she will be happy here in her new home. Living her new life. And I am trying to do so as well.

To quote "ARK": "May life overcome everything."

I'm old fashioned and romantic

Like the films in black and white

All the lovers were enchanting

Can you and I be old fashioned tonight

I wanna get lost in the music

And feel tipsy from the wine

Speak of love, I won't refuse it

I want a love like in another place and time

Dance with me

Oh, so close

Dance with me

And the music will speak the language of love

Just imagine me in white satin

Like a nineteen thirty's star

If we play the part, lovely things can happen

We can be old fashion being who we are

Dance with me

Oh, so close

Dance with me

Oh, so close (Dance with me)

I wanna let the rhythm take us

I wanna know what it can make us feel (Oh, so close)

So let the moment hypnotize us

A fantasy is a tiny step from real (Dance with me)

I wanna let the rhythm take us

I wanna know what it can make us feel (Oh, so close)

So let the moment hypnotize us

A fantasy is a tiny step from

And the music will speak the language of love

Europe, Spain, Valencia, Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, Santiago Calatrava, Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe(slightly cut)

Sometimes lookin' up in a building is like lookin' into another dimension.

During the first leg of our Spanish summer tour, we returned to the CAC. Mainly because we hadn't seen the buildings from the inside yet. The Prince Felip Science museum was a great building to start with.

Shot in the main atrium, showcasing the articulated and intricate 'organic' architecture of Calatrava. The 'spikes' (sharp triangles) of the roof, which are visible in the approx 1/3 position of the frame, are shown too, in a shot from the outside: here

It's not 'enchanted concrete' like in Sao Paulo here but, staying close to Calatrava's form language, 'lush concrete'.
