There's a saying in Finnish language, "to go to/on the night tree" that means preparing to go to sleep. It's a very old expression: to find your "night tree" was something that our distant ancestors, those who lived as hunter-gatherer's did. YOu tried to find a big tree under which would protect you from both bad weather and maybe the wolfs and the rest too.
To accompany the images of wintery trees and branches, I thought that the image of the mallards getting ready to get past another cold winter night, being at their "night tree" on this little pond, these two things suddenly had a connection.
I know I've been a bad contact lately, not having enough time to visit everyone new photos - I'll try to catch up soon!
