This is a pattern for long or short cover alls and a jacket. The copyright is 1980. It looks like the pattern is new and has never been used so everything is there. The size is 10.

I thought it would be nice to get this jacket pictured against the backdrop of Dripsey Castle and lake. The O'Shaughnessy family, who still own the castle, ran a busy woollen mill downstream from here for generations, using the Dripsey river for power. Sadly the mill has closed now, but it's still fondly remembered.

I have worked on this jacket in the spring of 2008, and it took me a little while to finish it. There's is also a cable that goes onto the color, but I think I like it also without it. As of the yarn, it was not the best choice, since the jacket is rather heavy now and it stretched more than I anticipated. Still need to add buttons.

For those of you who've never heard of Kenora,
it's a small city on the Ontario/Manitoba border.
This is a camping jacket, and to me this just
screams autumn, and cooler weather. These are kind
of popular and in shops now. This is a vintage coat.
It's lined with quilted padding, and so will be quite warm.
The newer ones are made of fleece. This one's the more
traditional melton wool, and it's also lined. Much,
much warmer.
The funny thing is that in the last 20 or so years,
people wouldn't be caught dead in one of these,
as they're seen as louche, and more than a little 'hoser'.
This was a lucky score at Exile, in Kensington Market, Toronto.
My friend Lynn owns the shop. So, not only did I get a great coat,
but I got a great price, too.
Take off, eh!
