My first try on making a jacket. I'm pretty happy with the result. It was really difficult to make, especially the collar and the lining took lots of patience... It's not 100% perfect, but it'll do for me :)

Made another jacket, best one yet in my opinion. 6 pockets on the outside, 2 of them zippered, the rest closed by snaps. Duro's Multicam Alpha soft shell fabric, hook and loop cuffs and nylon elbow pads.
I threw my jacket down one day, and then because the folds and shadows in it were so interesting, I decided to take a picture of it.

We headed out together today. Mana was off to work on her scooter while I was going shopping for the week ahead.
I would have quite liked to have shot this a few days earlier, her red jacket and green scooter seem very festive.
I think I've discovered what the next popular fashion will be for frat brothers everywhere: layered suit jackets with popped collars.
Actions by Converse and Bowling Shirts (aka...James). So far this is my favorite action but I pretty much love all the actions from James. Thanks for the chance to test the coolest actions....ever! I will post more soon.

The Red Jacket as they are fondly referred to, displayed their acumen at Dilli Haat a few days back. The Pipe Band of the Reserve Police enchanted one and all at the venue
This jacket is pretty much a bunch of sewing mistakes put together. First, the jacket itself is supposed to fully close in the front, but the cut is so unflattering that there is no way I was going to wear it with closures across the front (it added 15 pounds, easily). So I had decided just to use a top snap or button to create more of an open cape effect. I still wasn't totally happy about it because the jacket seemed pretty drab and oddly collarless.
Then last night I was making a scarf out of some silk and brushed cotton fabric (left over from my early September plaid jumper disaster) and decided to use a few of the wool scraps left over from the jacket in fabric-collage fashion.
As I was finishing the jacket at the same time I was working on the scarf - I hit on the idea of combining them. The scarf is attached along the top to hide the snap closure and create more of a collared effect. I believe this gives it a nice finish and I'm excited to have something to wear with a pair of jeans and a sweater as the days get cooler.
Total cost? About $13. The wool was estate sale ($6), the silk was $5, the plaid was in my scrap-pile (originally thrifted).
This rifle green form fitted jacket was made under the working name of "The Flower General" as it has a military feel from the colouring, the gold studded faux leather collar and the shoulder tabs with black studs. At first glance it almost has a camouflage pattern but after further inspection it's actully covered in large golden/green flowers and hence giving the feel of being worn by a high ranking military woman of the imaginable "royal flowerland army".

I've made some time ago two jeans jackets for FR2 and decided to offer them in my shop now.
The jeans fabric is gorgeous, it's a medium blue and it got a wash and color treatment. The jackets are quite similar, but one has metal stud buttons in bronze, the other one has them in gunmetal (I love gunmetal as a color).
They're a bit more expensive, but that's because they take much longer to make with all the pattern parts and washing. Apart from that, they really are a great addition to a doll's wardrobe and really a basic fashion piece aka must have ; )!
