I squeezed into a narrow lane full of tourists.

This series of images began when I was captivated by some of the "Illustrative" techniques used by Richard Gregory. Richard kindly gave me some tips and here are some experimental images based on the Bruges Canal shot which I posted yesterday. Thanks, Richard. None of them look like yours but I did get one quite close for a while. Then I became interested in getting an engraving type effect, mono and tinted. These are the three results. Thanks again, RichardGregory48.

Avec le groupe USK Lorient vendredi 3 décembre, il pleut, nous dessinons à l'intérieur de la gare.

Drive along a country road on a pleasant winter day and you'll be enchanted by the way that the snow has transformed the landscape. This is another scene from the Upper Gatineau Valley in Québec not far from my previous sketch. This area has more hills (with treacherous roads) and open spaces resembling a vast sloping lake. The pen-and-ink drawing brings out the high contrasts we find in winter scenes.

I’ve been intending to draw these roses in May at peak bloom but I kept missing the right time. Third time lucky.

As I was sketching the bunker doors, this photographer and model turned up and asked if they could work there. You can see that she moved more than he did.

Started drawing these amazing clouds appearing on the mountainside above the town. They disappeared as I drew them.

I kept at a distance so no one thought I was attempting to join in.

This was a commisioned drawing. I sketched this in a couple of sittings. One driver parked so as not to block my view. Another time, as I rested my sketch book on a car roof, the owner must have seen me and unlocked and locked the car till I moved away!

I was lucky again that no one phoned the police as I was checking out this house before sketching.

As I was drawing this two men dressed up and driving a classic Ford Thunderbird drove up, got out and filmed and interviewed me as part of their trans-Norway rally. I had to swear in Norwegian and they gave me a beer.
