We were having lunch in Sydney, and they had these fantastic napkins. I could not see anything inspirational to draw so I drew this view from our office in Terrigal like a magnet. Black ink lamy safari add a little water!!! The name of the restaurant is just coming through the back of the napkin - Fratelli Fresh

I’ve been driving past this place over twenty years. Now I’ve finally drawn it.

The skiers were going to their chalet. Only way to get there was by skiing or walking. The other chalets were empty.

Before this sketch, by turning 90°, I drew the castle. I was forced to stay in this shady spot as it was 30° C.

I thought this was the town hall when I started sketching.

The time shown was the time I started drawing in darkness. I finished exactly an hour later in daylight.

Something Unknown and Critical Were Happening

He was holding a crystal ball

In front of his eyes, closely, and beholding

He was beholding attentively and knew

Now something was happening

In this crystal ball

So he beheld attentively though

He saw nothing, but

He knew

Something happened, but

He was abandoned

He was abandoned out

Of the crystal ball, he was abandoned out

Of something huge which was unknown

but was so critical to happen and was happening

And happened.

I drew this in front of a house. This is their view!

The woman at the stand on the right came up to see what I was up to. When she saw that it was only a sketch, she said that she was relieved! A visitor walked up and asked how much the sketch would cost. After I told him 20 Euros, he joked that he’ll continue walking.

Everyone waved to me as they drove by.

I've sketched and painted this road in the Upper Gatineau Valley a couple of times over the years from different perspectives. In this latest sketch, the old barn sits on the side of the road surrounded by snow-covered fields and, further away, by a forest. The scene is lovely during every season but particularly in winter when the contrasts are so strong.

Rained stopped play during the sketch and I managed to finish it weeks later.
