ENG: Recently I had time again for a stroll in the City West. So I was once again tempted to go to the KaDeWe (department store of the West). Honestly, my last visit is certainly 20 years ago. ☻ Purely architecturally, something has changed, as can be seen in the new escalator system. I captured the escalator confusion in a long exposure. Why? Because there were simply too many people on the move. ☻

Warum? Weil dort einfach zu viele Menschen unterwegs waren. ☻

I intended to post this for today's Smile On Saturday challenge, Flower SOOC but didn't realize they closed at 7 and not 8 EST. Anyhow, here it is, straight out of my iPhone, selective focus of a flowering maple bloom taken at the New York Botanical Garden, the Bronx, NYC -- September 30, 2022.
We somehow made it through one of the last cruises last year. Of course one of the few times I got off the ship without the kids, my camera battery died. Thankfully phone cameras are so good now.
ENG: The Zion Church is a Protestant church in the Rosenthaler Vorstadt in the Berlin district Mitte of the same name. It belongs to the Evangelische Kirchengemeinde am Weinberg in the church district Berlin Stadtmitte.
The photo was actually taken only because of a wrong parker. He parked his car directly in the curve on the Zionskirchplatz, so that the streetcar could not pass. Normally, the view is not offered so, because the train is otherwise too fast disappeared around the corner.
It was inaugurated in 1873 in what was then the north of the city as the church of a daughter parish of the St. Elisabeth parish. The architect of the building, donated as a votive church by the Prussian king and later German emperor Wilhelm I, was August Orth. Among other things, the church gained importance as the place of work of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who worked here as a pastor. Shortly before the end of the GDR, the Zion Church was a center of opposition with Kirche von unten and the samizdat magazine Umweltblätter. Thus, resistance against the GDR regime was also planned here.

This is Hogarth Falls near Strahan, Tasmania. Although I had all the gear with me the rain did not even allow me to set up. This is with the phone using Slowshutter app with edits in Snapseed. Don’t know why but Slowshutter (or Halide) doesn’t support the ultra-wide .5 lens on the 11 Pro.
Just returned from a break in Norfolk, one of my favourite places especially Blakeney and the ever changing quay.

One week old. Eyes not yet open. Each about 2 inches when stretching for food. At this stage, all they do is sleep and eat. See previously posted photo from a few days earlier. flic.kr/p/2njFgiu
Monarda Raspberry Wine Bee Balm, to be exact. a hardy perennial hybrid introduced in 1992, that attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and blooms all summer. This lush stretch was growing in the Native Plants Garden at the New York Botanical Garden. The outside gardens opened on Monday for the first time in months and were deliciously empty and peaceful. One photo a day. (205/366) New York Botanical Garden, the Bronx, NYC -- July 23, 2020
Pooka, our Cavachon, trees a gecko on her never ending hunts. She catches one occasionally and having no idea what to do next, spits them out.
ENG: The view through the Bernauer Street subway sign on the U8 line gives a glimpse of the Berlin TV Tower in the distance. This is exactly where the Berlin Wall stood just 31 years ago, separating the city of Berlin into two parts.

ENG: Hi and hello to yours out there. Now my long vacation is unfortunately also over again. Now I will of course delight you with some impressions from my southern Germany vacation. Because the beginning is Rothenburg o.d. Tauber in the Bavarian Middle Franconia.
I photographed from Herrnbrunnen in the direction of the market place and city hall.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber, with its historic old town, its unique location above the Tauber valley and its romantic half-timbered houses, is for many people the epitome of medieval Germany. Guests from all over the world therefore travel to Western Middle Franconia to capture the unique atmosphere. A walk on the city wall or a visit to the museums and churches make it easy for visitors to immerse themselves in bygone days. But Rothenburg is far away from a bl0ße scenery a lively old town with many opportunities to stay and relax. In addition to the historical features, Rothenburg ob der Tauber focuses on wine culinary delights and the proximity to nature! Hiking, biking or simply taking a leisurely stroll along the historic town wall - in Rothenburg ob der Tauber you will quickly find peace and quiet and everyone will find their favourite spot.

Finally got round to going to Cliveden, the water feature in front of the main drive was looking grand in the sunshine.

The quiet solitude of winter in the high country brings such peace to my soul. Photographed with the iPhone 11 Pro Max on my way to work February 13th.
Have a great evening!!!!
Despite all the bad weather it is amazing how these old caterpillar tractors still survive and are working units towing fishing boats up steep shingle banks.
