Took a trip with my other half to Battersea Power Station as she had not been there since the rebuilding. We went onto the RideLondon route afterwards to see her sister finish the 100 mile circuit just after 6 pm.

Soul: Ah, most sweet, pure, and divine Love, what a suave transformation it is to be transformed into what I love more than myself. And I am so transformed that I have lost my name in order to love, I who can love so little; it is into Love that I have been transformed; for I love nothing but Love.

Love: This Soul swims in the sea of Joy, that is to say, in the sea of delights which issues and flows from the Divinity; and so she feels no joy, for she herself is joy, and thus she swims and floats in joy without feeling any joy, for she dwells in Joy and Joy dwells in her; she is joy herself by the force of Joy that has transformed her into Itself.

-Mirror, chap. 28, Guarnieri, p. 545; (Marguerite Porete (d. 1310))

To reach this estate, Marguerite had first to follow reason and the Virtues and feed the latter “to bursting point” before being able to say with St. Augustine: “Love and do what you like.”27 She had to overpass dogmatic knowledge of which she was far from ignorant: it is not without reason that in some manuscripts she is referred to as a “béguine clergeresse” or “en clergerie moult suffisant.”

ENG: Last weekend on Sunday there were many demonstrations in Berlin and across Germany against Put:in its war against Ukraine. About 60,000 thousand people were on the streets of Berlin alone to demonstrate against this madness. And so I was there with my child, if only because children can only lose in this war. The cardboard figure in my picture was brought to Berlin from the Rosenmontagszug in Düsseldorf, which was cancelled due to the pandemic, so that the Putin float could at least be present at the peace demonstration. The slogan: "Choke on it!!!"

ENG: Last weekend I was running again and during my workout by the River Spree I discovered this beautiful muscle car. The view of the car over the station Friedrichstraße to the TV tower had me simply captivated. I also had to take a few minutes' break and snap the photo. ☻

I thought I could catch the sunset, which was at 7:24, but at 7:25:39 (when this was taken,) it looked like I was too late, especially with those clouds blocking the sun. But they were such magnificent clouds! Bayside Marine, Little Neck Bay, Bayside, NYC -- April 4, 2020

The first blossom of the season from a camellia bush in my mother's yard. We are "social distancing," and I live about a mile away, but she lets me know what's going on in her garden, and I drive over and slip into the back with my camera and phone. By the time I got there, this bloom was in shade, and I found it easier to capture it with my iPhone than with my camera and no flash.

Camellias are native to Japan, China, India, and the Himalayas and grow in humid, temperate climates. They are used as symbols of love and perfection. The white ones represent innocent love, and the red ones passion and romantic love.

"Pink camellia is a representation of the desire to be with a loved one. Another pink camellia meaning is nostalgia. Pink camellia may also symbolize the greatness of the soul."

Merton as monk had discerned that efficacy in his vocation to write would depend on exercising an ability to report the singular wisdom he was continually learning in the school of his own life’s more intimate relationships with God, with human cultures, and within the opportunities offered through the persons, places, and identity-transforming events of his personal history.

His desire to write and speak truth beyond his received opinions that were inculcated in him by his education, social class, and singular religious commitments, in short, his will to find his own voice, was ascetically heroic. His intuition that a grace was given to write confessing the contours of his personal struggle to be a fully integrated and truth-speaking human being was romantic. His goal to be a witness to freedom by word and example was idealized.
