Seongbuk-dong, a relatively unknown area of the city to tourists, is one of Seoul’s hidden gems with full of history and with attractive streets to explore. Bordered by the Seoul fortress wall, the neighborhood has temples, homes of famous historical figures to visit, as well as plenty of delightful restaurants, and tea rooms serving up Korean favorites to enjoy whilst taking a rest. One highlight is Bukjeong Village, a hillside community where you can old experience Seoul as you make your way through the maze of alleyways and passageways.

Good on you Tricky, and I wish you the best of luck in everything. Belleza has always been an original and high quality brand and I've always respected the designers and their artwork. They've inspired me to get better as a designer myself and they're overall an awesome brand. Fuck the people who are filing false DMCA claims. I support Belleza.

Agullent és un municipi del País Valencià situat a la comarca de la Vall d'Albaida.
De la llarga dominació musulmana tenim escasses referències d'una torre i una alqueria àrab anomenada "Agullen" i una necròpolis d'època tardana. La població valenciana romana o la població indígena va anar arabitzant-se a poc a poc, tant en la cultura, religió, com en l'idioma, i al final de la dominació sarraïna, aquesta arabització en l'espiritual i en el cultural va ser quasi completa. Jaume el Conqueridor va donar en feu el grup de casa d'Agullent al cavaller Guillem de l'Olivar, un dels capitans que li van ajudar en la reconquista d'Alcoi; però al morir este sense descendència, va tornar a pertànyer al patrimoni reial, en temps de Jaume el Just.[2]
Conquistades estes terres als moros entre 1244 i 1249 entren a formar part de la Corona d'Aragó, de caràcter liberal, com a manifesta l'heràldica de l'escut municipal. Després de la conquista de les terres, els pobles són repoblats principalment per cristians que procedien de la Catalunya oriental i occidental, com també d'Aragó.
La història d'Agullent, fins a finals de l'any 1585, apareix vinculada a Ontinyent, de la qual depèn en aspectes geogràfics, polítics, militars, judicials i religiosos.
L'actual Agullent naix com a nucli urbà en l'Edat Mitjana, fruit de l'emigració o població cristiana que va anar agrupant-se al voltant de l'església de Sant Bartomeu, i entorn del molí fariner, construïts segle XIV -XV.
Durant la guerra de les Germanies, la documentació de la Virreina, pel 1524, diu que Agullent és un "Lloc o carrer de la Vila d'Ontinyent". En esta Guerra, primera revolució social de l'Europa moderna, intervé Agullent amb Ontinyent, agermanats amb altres poblacions reials valencianes, en contra dels abusos de l'aristocràcia.
A finals de segle XVI, es va produir un augment de població arribant a tindre 300 cases, el que suposava una població d'uns 1200 habitants. A causa d'este augment demogràfic, Agullent va disposar del suficient poder econòmic (5 mil lliures) per a sol·licitar al rei Felip II el privilegi reial de constituir-se com a municipi autònom. A partir d'ací Agullent es convertix en universitat reial i es forma el Consell i els Jurats. Va ser, car la Catòlica Majestat del Rei qui va alçar Agullent a un nou rang i li va donar dret a tindre vida pròpia.
Dos fets van contribuir posteriorment a la despoblació de la universitat: l'expulsió dels moriscos decretada per Felip III, a principis del segle XVII, i l'èxode a Ontinyent de moltes famílies durant el segle XVIII. Aquests fets van donar lloc a la desaparició de molts pobles que existien en la comarca abans de l'expulsió.
Al llarg dels segles posteriors les vicissituds polítiques d'Estat Espanyol es van reflectir també a Agullent. En els inicis del segle XX, Agullent, va mamprendre un lent creixement que es va vore truncat per la Guerra de 1936, i que no es va reiniciar fins a finals dels anys cinquanta.
Un altre fet destacable va ser la prolongació de la línia de ferrocarril València-Xàtiva-Alcoi en 1902, la qual cosa va millorar el comerç i les comunicacions d'Agullent amb l'exterior.
Restaurant i hotel rural Molí Fariner
Al centre urbà es conserva el Molí Fariner dedicat a moldre tot tipus de cereals. L'edifici del segle XV, recentment restaurat, combina les infraestructures tradicionals amb les d'un restaurant de cuina exquisida. Manté el sistema de reg procedent de la Font Jordana, "la neta", lloc on es enjuagaba el blat, l'assecador i el molí, el qual conserva tota la maquinària per moldre i classificar el gra.
Es tracta fonamentalment, d'una col·lecció d'objectes trobats durant les obres, interessant i curiosa per la seva visita, que pot anar acompanyada d'un passeig pels seus voltants, el casc antic de la població.

The Auschwitz concentration camp was a complex of over 40 concentration and extermination camps built and operated by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland during World War II and the Holocaust. It consisted of Auschwitz I, the main camp and administrative headquarters in Oświęcim; Auschwitz II–Birkenau, a combined concentration and extermination camp three kilometers away in Brzezinka; Auschwitz III–Monowitz, a labor camp created to staff an IG Farben synthetic-rubber factory; and dozens of other sub camps.
After Germany invaded Poland in September 1939, sparking World War II, the Germans converted Auschwitz I, a former army barracks, to hold Polish political prisoners. The first prisoners, German criminals brought to the camp as functionaries, arrived in May 1940, and the first gassing of prisoners took place in block 11 of Auschwitz I in September 1941. Auschwitz II–Birkenau went on to become a major site of the Nazis' Final Solution to the Jewish Question. From early 1942 until late 1944, transport trains delivered Jews from all over German-occupied Europe to the camp's gas chambers. Of the estimated 1.3 million people sent to Auschwitz, at least 1.1 million died, around 90 percent of them Jews. Approximately one in six Jews killed in the Holocaust died at the camp. Others deported to Auschwitz included 150,000 non-Jewish Poles, 23,000 Roma, 15,000 Soviet prisoners of war, 400 Jehovah's Witnesses, tens of thousands of others of diverse nationalities, and an unknown number of gay men. Many of those not killed in the gas chambers died because of starvation, forced labour, infectious diseases, individual executions, and medical experiments.

The Filipino ladies don't have any where to go, they live with their host families or employers. So the only places they meet up with their friends is in public areas.
And this is the necklace that put me way, way over budget for June. I’ve actually been looking for chandelier crystals at thrift stores and flea markets to make something similar. Finding this necklace was much easier and cheaper than making my own…and probably a little lighter. (The crystals are not glass.)

This necklace is terribly glamorous, so I tempered the fanciness with a casual cardigan. Actually, this cardigan is getting a little too casual for work. It has developed some terrible pilling in the armpit. I do my best not to wave my arms around at the office.

I went to Target yesterday and FINALLY got Paper Towns! Yay! And today during school I already read 150 pages of it... wohoo! Tried really hard not to laugh out loud at many things. Eek, real hard. And Melissa picked up my camera from the post office yesterday and took it with her when she picked up from school. The shutter was jammed at first but after love taps it started to work, haha!! Yes, that's how I fix everything. BUT YAY! It works.

Once again my first choice for this was to be a disaster with regards lighting at Lower Moor. I did plan this in as a second effort even though I knew it would be 'off the nose'. As it turned out I was lucky to get this because dark clouds with rain included was to change the scene viewed here.

The NYPD Harasses a Photographer at Coney Island
It's not the first case of illegal censorship by a department that says "shoot first, hand over film later"

Manhattan commercial photographer Simon Lund loves Coney Island so much that he treks out there 10 to 20 times each summer to take pictures. But it was only on his latest venture that Lund encountered something he'd never experienced in all his trips there over the years: an unwanted photo editor from the NYPD.
As if he were in a police state, Lund was intimidated by a cop into giving up his film, even though he was doing nothing wrong and wasn't formally accused of anything.
The upshot is that "the police had no right to get involved—none," says Todd Maisel, vice president of the New York Press Photographers Association.
Under the law, Lund was allowed to take a photo of anyone in public. If he intended to use the picture commercially, he'd have to get a signed release.
Maisel, a shooter for the Daily News, says news photogs get into occasional scrapes with police, but most know never to give up their film. However, he says he can see how a commercial photographer might be more easily intimidated by the NYPD.
NYPD officials declined to comment for this story, but several allegations of the cops' heavy-handed behavior toward photographers have been documented. The NYCLU has filed several lawsuits against the NYPD, accusing them of violating First Amendment rights in its harassment of photographers. One of the suits, Sharma v. NYPD, was filed in January 2006, when Indian filmmaker Rakesh Sharma, who was shooting taxis in midtown, was stopped by police and detained for several hours, during which he was quizzed about "terrorist" activities. That August, the suit was expanded at the NYCLU's request to include a slew of photographers.
"Photographers and filmmakers have been unlawfully detained, searched, and threatened with arrest if they would not disclose or destroy their film," the Sharma suit contends, adding that the harassment, ominously, doesn't always end there. "Photographers have also been subjected to a second round of questioning by members of the NYPD's Intelligence Division," the suit alleges.
The department also may be keeping close track of which photographers it harasses. The suit accuses the NYPD of maintaining a database that includes the identities of everyone "investigated for photography . . . regardless of the outcome of the investigation."
If that's the case, then Simon Lund is on the list.
His troubles started when he was with his wife, Jano, clicking away at Coney Island on Memorial Day. A woman approached him and accused him of taking pictures of her young son. Lund says that if he did, he was unaware of it; he recalls that he was shooting the rides. In any event, Lund knew that it's legal to take pictures of people, even kids, in public. (For later commercial use, photographers have to get releases from the children's parents.)
The woman told him to accompany her while she found a cop. She insisted that Lund erase the picture, but Lund was using a film camera, not a digital one, and thus couldn't erase individual shots. Nevertheless, he says, he willingly followed her over to a group of police officers congregating on the boardwalk. "I just wanted to sort it out, because I knew it was fine to take pictures in public," he says.
A cop whom Lund couldn't fully identify, however, didn't see it that way. Lund says the cop asked him and his wife if they had children. When they said no, the officer said: "If you did, you'd understand why she is so upset." The woman was joined by other family members, and soon they were all yelling at the police to make Lund hand over his film.
"It was starting to get uglier and uglier," says Lund. "The mother of the child was getting really hostile: 'Why isn't he destroying it? How can he take pictures of my child?' "
Lund says the cop then leaned over to him and said: "You should destroy your film right now, or give it to her. You've got to give up your film, or things are going to get much worse for you."
"I knew at that point I could fight it," says Lund. "I knew I was right." But he recalls that he didn't want to find out what the cop meant by things getting "much worse for you."
So he gave the film and a business card to a friend of the woman's. "The cop didn't exactly say, 'I'm going to take you to jail,' " says Lund, "but basically, he didn't leave me any other choice."
Lund asked that the woman develop the photos, remove any pictures of her son, and please return the rest of the photographs to him. He hasn't heard from her since. He says he plans to file a complaint with the Civilian Complaint Review Board.
"We're quite confident that the NYPD has told its police officers, in one way or another, that they should be paying very, very close attention to photographers," says Christopher Dunn, the NYCLU's associate legal director. "But they haven't been given clear directions on the limits in which they have to conduct those investigations. Police officers are not allowed to look at images without consent of the photographer, and they have no authority to order someone to let them look at their pictures or to confiscate their film. And it happens all the time."
Officials at the CCRB and the NYCLU say that complaints about the police approaching people taking pictures and either demanding to see their photos or seizing and destroying them have been on the rise ever since 9/11.
Dunn says this particular case offers the "wrinkle" of Lund willingly approaching the cops instead of the cops approaching him. "But the outcome is the same," he adds: "Someone's film is disappearing."
