I am soing this tag that Kristen tagged me for. I really hope no one gets mad at me because I've really been down lately. And I guess this is the 10 things you do not know about me.

1. I'm asian and black, and I usually try and wear eye make up to hide it. Only to stop people from making fun of me, which usually happens. But sometimes it doesn't work. I know it's bad to do so, I'm not ashamed of what I am I guess it's confusing I don't even know why people make a big deal of it really. But I never know what to say to make the stop.

2. I don't listen to the radio so people think I'm weird. I never know what songs they are talking about at all. I listen to Movie scores, Indie, and Korean Indie music. But I never tell anyone this.

3. I'm usually jealous of people that have lifelong friends. Friends they grew up with. I wish I had that. You are really lucky if you have one or two of them. Because my parents are in the army I move every year or two so It's hard for me to even make friends and I believe that's why I'm an introvert. This is also why I live with my grandparents now, I can't handle switching schools every year anymore.

4. I wish I was more confident in myself in everything because I don't think I am.

5. I hate that it's hard for me speak in front of crowds or even stand in front of them.

6. I don't know if I know what love is, and if I should be telling my boyfriend I love him. But he does make me happy and I guess that's what it means? I can see a life together with him.

7. I love dogs. My favorite is a Doborman Pincher and I plan to name him Eros when I get a chance to get one and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, I'd like to name Winston.

8. I thing mice are cute, but rats scare me.

9. I play MMO's, consules, and handheld games ALL THE TIME, I don't know why people are always shocked when I tell them this. But I love games.

10. Favorite all time game is...DR MARIO on NES.

Anyway, I hope you guys don't dislike me now, it's just hard dealing with people sometimes and where I live now, it's so many close minded people I guess it's getting to me.

that I would be good even if I did nothing

that I would be good even if I got the thumbs down

that I would be good if I got and stayed sick

that I would be good even if I gained ten pounds

that I would be fine even if I went bankrupt

that I would be good if I lost my hair and my youth

that I would be great if I was no longer queen

that I would be grand if I was not all knowing

that I would be loved even when I numb myself

that I would be good even when I am overwhelmed

that I would be loved even when I was fuming

that I would be good even if I was clingy

that I would be good even if I lost sanity

that I would be good

whether with or without you

ALANIS MORISSETTE - That I would be good

To me, this song is all about deep true love. One that would last through infinity.

May we all experience one as such.

My couch was moved out into the studio and so was the rug! So happy!!!! Still need to hang up those two pics...they will go on either side of the big one on the wall. (I didn't have the right hardware, oh well). This was a huge accomplishment cause the couch was all the way upstairs in the house and it weighs a TON...it is a hide a bed! All I can say is once again my husband rocks! :)

I had the opportunity to meet Yuta in May 2015. She was gracious enough to invite me to her place and show me some of her paintings. Later we hiked the trails near her place.

We talked about paintings, photography, the psychology of art, an artist's thought process, what constitutes art, the appreciation and critique of art, the love and romance of art, the struggles, the failures and the successes.

I took this picture of her as she was looking through her screen door and smiling at me.

our ocean view, as seen through a rainy cottage window in oceanville, maine. my uncle david loves pointing out the originality of the village name. it's just north of the quarry-town known as stonington. no joke.

(p.s. sorry about the eddie rabbitt reference. again, i couldn't resist. i am weak.)

During my walk around Darwin's downtown area (consisting of four buildings on one small block), I got the impression that the town was populated by some colorful people. Most of the houses still occupied were decorated with personal artwork, strange structures, and eccentric signs.

I didn't want to be a weirdo tourist walking around snapping photos of occupied properties, so some of the more interesting landmarks didn't make it back home with me.

I did however appreciate this old building. I can't say I've seen an official dance hall before.

'I Thought I Could Find You There' It's a contemporary portrait photography project, about people in the places where I used to go with my father when I was little, although I'm not concentrating my work into images of locations but much more on people who are re-creating different memories with their own lives and experiences.

Who are the people in the same places which plenty of memories were built on? What do they look like? How different and how similar they are to my father? How do they use the same spaces of my memories to create their future memoir?

This collection of faces in the gigantic city of Sao Paulo is not ended yet, this project still under work.

I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man b/w Hot Thing

Prince, Paisley Park Records/USA (1987)

My entry for week 2 of Behind the Lens - Global Creative Photography Project. The theme for the week was upside-down and I had tried out a few ideas and in the end they just turned out bad. After talking with some people the only other idea I had would've been similar to this but I just really liked this one that I took a couple weeks so I figured I would add this one instead.

Found this in a bucket at a charity store and bought it for $2.

I really like this one, great colours!

I sprayed on the stucco 'till I thought I'd faint

With twelve shades of brown and for real I cain't...

Believe all the blandness, oh no artist I ain't

But it's my destiny to be the King of Paint

Finally, I figured out something fitting (albeit strange) for that song!

Yes, the new Taco Bell looks to be already past the stucco and paint stage, at least on the exterior (minus painting the confetti if they do that here), and that's right at one mere month from pouring the foundation! In this pic grooves in the stucco for confetti (on the top of the walls) are clearly visible.

If the old TB remains standing after all (looks like it very well might), the new building will have no choice but to assume the 1117 address that the construction crew is using. Will the old building be re-addressed correctly when Taco Bell vacates? I doubt it but stay tuned...

(Feb. 18, 2009: It's not at all surprising to me that the most viewed picture on my photostream isn't one that I took, but instead one by some unknown photographer of a hundred years ago. For as long as I can remember, I've known that this was a compelling image.)

Me, me, me!

I've been tagged! This photo restoration is as good an occasion as any for my listing 16 things about me. I'm given to understand that I could probably get away with "9 for '09" but my friend yourwillingskin (AKA Northstar) wanted 16, so here goes:

1. I am the only son of an only son of an only son. In connection with this, the man in the centre of the picture is Joseph Reid, a schooner captain and my great grandfather. The little boy tucked into his arm is Eldred Reid, my grandfather.

2. I lived in the house in the picture for two years in the early 70s, when I was around four or five years old. I also spent many months and weeks during the summers of my childhood with my grandparents in Heart's Delight. Much time was spent catching frogs and crabs, as well as drawing comic books in scrap books. In my memories and imagination, the town of Heart's Delight will always have an association with sunshine and an easy state of being.

3. Although I've spent a lot of time trying to figure it out, I have no firsthand idea of how non-creative people can put up with their own company.

4. I don't count myself as having produced anything of any real merit for more than six years, since I moved out of a place I was renting as a painting studio on my 34th birthday. Subsequently, I sometimes have trouble putting up with my own company.

5. I sing. Nothing all the way through, of course. Just bits and pieces of songs. I got in quite a bit of practice while I was alone in my painting studio. Some people are gracious enough to tell me that I'm half-decent.

6. Or maybe it's impressions of singers that I do. Anything from the plaintive rant of Roger Waters of Pink Floyd to the plaintive swoon of Fran Healy of Travis. Sometimes I even do Elvis Presley.

7. For 15 years of my life I wanted to be a comic book artist. I was a teenager at just the right time to see Frank Miller and Alan Moore start to do their stuff. Although I got bored of comics when I was 17, the ambition continued until I was 22, when I decided I wanted to paint instead.

8. Watchmen, which was first published during my first year of university, was the last comic that I bought regularly. Alan Moore really had the golden touch.

9. My childhood was ruled by a boundlessly expansive imagination. The things that caught my attention -- comic books, chapter books, drawing, and later pop music -- seemed more wonderful than I will ever be able to express. Pretty girls should be listed there too. Pretty girls really had me in a bad way.

10. Off the top of my head, my favorite movies this past year were Superbad and... wait a bit, I'll get back to you.

11. Off the top of my head, my favourite music this past year was Bon Iver. (I enjoy mimicing Justin Vernon's falsetto, too.)

12. Way out ahead of the pack, my favourite author is Kurt Vonnegut. He offers me complicency, I guess, just as any friend would. I've also been deeply moved by the writings John Steinbeck. Saroyan has brought me to tears, but that was years ago. The best I read this past year was Cormac McCarthy.

13. Fortunately for me, I can't play first-person shooters. They all give me a terrible headache. Unfortunately for me, if I actually can see an avatar on the screen, then I can play computer games without getting a headache for quite a while. But I don't bother with them very much.

14. I work as a graphic designer at a small town printer's. I've known since the mid-90s that I found graphic design to be truly soul-sucking work. Maybe if my life hadn't had certain difficulties, I would have been able to work my way into an interesting graphic designer postion, like, say, art director for an interesting magazine.

15. When I wasn't painting or graphic designing during the past decade, I was driving ambulances, pumping gas, or working as a clerk. Like I say, if my life hadn't had certain difficulties...

16. If you've reached Number 16, then you're probably a friend of mine.

I am bored now, you better play with me soon! orz

I attended the Port Townsend Cruise this past Sunday for the fourth year in a row. I rode with my dear friend Travy, and just relaxed the whole time, only shooting while we were at Griots before leaving. Had a great time though, it's always nice to see some old faces and kick it with the homies.

I could fly? I could fly. Well.. maybe. Luke could so there was just as good of a chance I could as well. If I wasn't so afraid of heights maybe I would of tried by now. The clouds in the blue above just seemed so far away. It would be much to high to look down from. My eyes caught the red pink blossoms a couple feet above my head. They were just out of my reach. Now those weren't that high. I reached a hand up slowly until it was out as far as I could reach. The blossoms lingering just out of my reach. I thought of my arm reaching up higher. I focused everything in me on reaching those flowers. I closed my eyes after a few moments frustrated and relieved my feet still rested firmly on the ground. That was when my fingers brushed against something. Eyes darting open to stare in wonder at the flowers in my fingertips. My head now surrounded my the many flowers and the sent of them filling me as I breathed in. I didn't dare look down. I reached for a branch and willed myself up into the tree climbing as soon as I could set my feet on a branch. So. I could fly?

Segways onto the walls of the Mill city museum. The Mississippi river front is very scenic with all the landmarks located close by. The are lots of tours using these segways. Its fun to learn and enjoy history this way.

Mill city Museum is built into the ruins of the Washburn A Mill, along the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The original A Mill, built in 1874, was leveled by a flour dust explosion that claimed 18 lives. That explosion and the resulting fire destroyed much of the riverfront business area, cutting Minneapolis’ milling capacity in half.
