I want you - Rachael Yamagata

When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. me

Song: Jacks Mannequin- I'm Ready

Ashlee and I came up with this idea a few days ago when we both realized we purchased these magnetic letters. This is our first stop motion together. Hopefully we will do more in the future.

The concept of this is self explanatory, at least in my opinion. But if you have any questions, feel free to contact either one of us. Thank you.

Tell us what you think, we love feedback.

And she just hissed at me all the time!

Two hypothesis:

1. Goku used to bully her a lot...Maybe she had felt his scent on me and got upset...

2. She remembers me, but she is so happy in her new home she was afraid I could take her from there... kkkk

I was so happy to see her so happy there! She finally got the home she deserves.

Isa is such a hostess, and it's always a pleasure to meet her!

By the way, this pic was taken while she still lived in my house...

I have three weeks.

Sacred of Burma

I decided to take some time off. Every bird needs some time away from my nest…and by the looks of my nest, and the many complaints from the maids, I need time off. Hah…Robin, once the feared boy wonder…now plays pranks instead of stop crime.

I don’t know who said I should go to the Observatory. But if I remember someone’s getting shot with an umbrella. This place sucks. Who thought it was a good idea to put an observatory in the middle of a big city?! All I can see are helicopters and bat signals!

Whelp, that’s enough vacation! I’ve had it! Back to the war, it’s time to end this thing!

The Penguin moves from the Western Subway Station (#82), over the Gotham Zoo, to attack and takeover Gotham Observatory (#81).

I popped the question and she said yes! :D

We went up to the top of a parking garage. She loves to see the city lights at night so I decided to take her up there and ask her. I'm glad to start a life with her and see where this journey takes us.

Dress, vintage, thrifted, and shortened three inches. Belt, Gap (thrifted). Earrings, thrifted. Pumps, thrifted. Purse, thrifted.

I tried, I really tried, to create an outfit with only $20. I found everything but the purse last Saturday at the St Vincent de Paul shop on Colerain Avenue. My receipt is incredibly hard to decipher, so I can’t tell you how much each item cost, but the total (including the bag I found at Goodwill a few years ago) was under $16.

I blew my budget when I took the pumps to the shoe repair shop for new heel tips. The shoes are all leather and have very little wear, but the old plastic heel tips had disintegrated with age. New tips set me back $10.65, putting me over the $20 limit.

Despite blowing my budget, I was excited to wear my 100% thrifted (if not less than $20) outfit to a showing of Brother Bailey’s Pageant of Moral Superiority and Creation Science Island Jamboree. My newly renovated shoes never made it to the show, though. After about 30 minutes of wear, my feet were killing me, and I changed into some back-up sandals (not pictured, but definitely more than $20 alone, even at TJ Maxx).

As I expected, the shoes were the troublesome element of a $20 outfit. Still, it was a good exercise in thrift, forced me to consider secondhand shoes, and was an education on how much of a bargain (or not) shoe repairs can be.

Fitting in baby shoot assignments during a short break from wedding work is a perfect way to keep yourself busy. Bearing in mind this was an extremely demanding assignment which tested my nerves and skills to the max, the end result has come out rewarding :)

When I go out shopping en femme, my main consideration is usually blending-in although wearing any type of dress or skirt runs counter to the prevailing trend. Yesterday's outfit was probably not in that blending-in category! Anyway, the only reaction I received was from the very cheerful sales assistant who said "You're very Summery". Every time I go out, I see more and more evidence that people are just too busy with their own lives and concerns to pay any attention to anyone else, including little old me!

I went out to the Haw River this morning with the intention of photographing birds, but I was greeted by a foggy river. I saw a heron in the fog, so I became more stubborn than usual and kept my telephoto lens on my camera. This made me miss some good photo ops of a foggy river, and by the time I came to my senses and changed to a wide angle lens, the fog was mostly gone. Luckily I still go this shot as the sun was coming to tree top levels to my left, and the fog was lifting away.

And a couple of minutes after this shot I put my telephoto lens back on, and I got a really out of focus picture of what I believe to be a juvenile bald eagle carrying away a fish. I kept trying to get closer to the eagle, but he kept a very safe distance from me, and eventually went to the other side of the river. Oh well. Maybe next time..........

Except when I have a headache which, I'm lucky, is not too often...

Jerrick pushes me aside to the wall like I'm nothing. He picks my dad up off his feet, holding him by his throat. I...I don't know why I just sat there like an idiot. This was a true sociopath who's extremely close to killing my dad. I think it was just shock. I was a bit relieved when I saw him sheath his blade, but this is still the guy known for killing criminals with his own two hands. He pulls my dad closer to his face, and shoots him a look I'm sure is gonna haunt Arthur for years. As if he didn't have enough things keeping him up at night...

"Listen good, Arthur. Cluemaster is dead. Done. Over. I never wanna see this bullshit orange jumpsuit of yours ever again. Got it?"

"Y-yes..."

"Next time your girl won't stop me. Remember that."

He drops dad and lumbers off into the shadows. As soon as I'm sure he's gone I go right to my dad's side. Oh god, he's covered in his own blood...he's definably critical. How's he still conscious? If I came here sooner he wouldn't be in this much pain. It's my fault...

"Y-you knew? About Bane?...."

"You left that clue at Gotham Liberty. If you didn't I wouldn't have learned and you'd be dead right now..."

"I was ready to die. When Bane's--Arrgh--Bane's guys killed those people, I thought I lost you for good. The only thing I had left to live for..."

"I'm so sorry, daddy... If I wasn't such a moron earlier I would've tried to help you like Bruce did."

"What...what did you just call me?"

"....daddy?"

"I don't remember you ever calling me that. Even as a baby....Aarrghh!!"

"Oh god, daddy! W-where's it hurt the most?"

"Here...."

"....you didn't point anywhere."

"That's where it hurts..."

"Oh daddy... I'll call in the Whirly Bird, get you to a hospital quick! You're losing blood, we gotta--"

"Hey, found him! Christ, he's covered in blood! What happened?"

Police? Thank god, they can get some help!

"Get a medic here, quick! he's practically dying!"

"Ah man. All units report, we have a 10-45C at the east docs, need and ambulance, now!"

"Huh, so this is where you've been?"

"Jim? No...I was hunting him down like an idiot. I didn't know who the real villain was..."

"Well, everyone does now. Big guy called me up, told me the whole thing. Most of the force is mobilizing on Krank's right now. Arthur should be good now."

I wish that were true. The bloodsmear and my dad's pained grunts say otherwise. I stayed with him until about 3 minutes later when the medics took him away. I followed the ambulance all the way to Mercy Hospital. I'm not sleeping tonight. Not until I know for sure he's gonna be okay....

Well… Big 'Roadtrip 2010' has finally come to an end. I just returned to home base in Mesa, Arizona, a few days ago. I left in mid, May, so It's been nearly seven months on the road. I've had the same routine for the past several years. 6-7 months on the road, then spend the winter in Mesa to catch up on computer work.

This trip has been interesting. Not great, but, interesting. Alright… To be perfectly honest… It's been my worst roadtrip in the five years that I have lived in the motorhome! Yeah, there have been a few good moments. But… They have been few and far between. It ended well. The last couple of weeks have been great for photography. Bisti Badlands was awesome. I had some great shooting at Monument Valley. But… In general… This has been kind of the Murphy's Law trip. Anything that could go wrong, went wrong. Anything that could break, broke.

The weather was the biggest kick in the ass. Motorhomes are just not built for temperature extremes. The air conditioning is not great. The heat is not great. When I decided to live in a motorhome, the whole idea was to go to warm places in the winter, and cool places in the summer. That didn't really work out this summer. I knew this trip had to happen, and I'm glad to get it over with. The company I shoot for covers everything from St Louis to San Diego. Last summer I just covered the western half of our territory. Coast of California. Utah. Western Colorado. Basically… All the cool stuff. That meant that, this year, I had to shoot the eastern half of our territory. Timing just didn't work out too well. I spent the first couple of months in northern Arizona, and New Mexico, where it was HOT! Then, by the end of july, I had moved on to Texas, where it was really, really, REALLY, HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like… About 105 degrees for two months straight!!! Then on to Louisiana, where it was HOT, and HUMID! (though, I actually rather liked Louisiana) Then on to Oklahoma, where it was STILL HOT!! After all the heat, I just wanted to get as far into the mountains as possible. I drove to a friends house in Colorado. He lives at 9000 feet elevation. When I left Oklahoma, it was 102 degrees. The next morning, when I woke up in Colorado, it was 28 degrees. Yes, seriously! That was a shock! It has been freezing ever since. I went to Denver, where it was COLD! Boulder was COLD! Colorado Springs, was COLD! The last leg of the trip was in New Mexico, where it was REALLY COLD!!! I had several nights in the single digits. The motorhome has never seen cold like that before. My final, REALLY cold night was in Farmington, NM. That one really did me in. It got down to 5 degrees. Even with an electric heater placed down by my water lines, and my faucets left dripping all night, my water system still froze and cracked in about five different places.

So… I'm glad to be back. I don't love Mesa. But… It's warm here. I know where everything is. It feels really good to be back in a familiar place after months of being in various random places. So, now it's time to look back through all the crappy photos I have shot of all the crappy places I have visited this summer. I will be posting a random assortment of all that crap over the next several months, as well as some new photos of the crappy scenery around Mesa. There should be lots to look forward to!

Now that I have gotten the eastern stuff out of the way. Next summer's trip should be a GREAT one. I would really like to see Yosemite and Lake Tahoe again.

'Everyone is beautiful, which means that I am beautiful too.' - Just in case you couldn't read my poor hand writing

Whoever reads this, you're beautiful and someone out there is crazy about you. So smile. Life is too short to be unhappy.

Just a little something for Amy's 'I am beautiful' project for self harm awareness day.

You can view the finished project video here.

Please excuse my huge teeth and the little mustache crease my smile makes.

Anyway, this image marks the start of accepting how I look at myself, because I don't think I am beautiful at all. I need to start believing it because I have wasted almost seventeen years not being comfortable about how I feel about myself. - Thanks to the images of 'perfection' in the media and comparing my flaws to other peoples' perfections I'd be happy with the way I look.

I got a response to my email and a reprieve for my stupidity.

*sigh of relief*

I delivered my artwork to the gallery.

I typed up my title lists and price lists.

I finished up several semi-big projects around the house.

I got caught up on processing and uploading my 365 pics.

now I find myself with time on my hands.

what shall I do?

hmmmm....

To see you when I wake up

is a gift I didn't think could be real.

To know that you feel the same as I do

is a three-fold, utopian dream.

You do something to me that I can't explain.

So would I be out of line if I said,

I miss you.

I see your picture, I smell your skin on the empty pillow next to mine.

You have only been gone ten days, but already I'm wasting away.

I know I'll see you again

whether far or soon.

But I need you to know that I care

and I miss you.

INCUBUS

I obviously didn't follow the tagging etiquette! I guess I was supposed to take a picture immediately, but I was at school all day and didn't. I decided to put up a photobooth picture from a little while ago (I already broke the expediency rule, might as well break another one).

This was right after a photoshoot on the south shore of Montreal, so I had crazy, kind of androgynous makeup. I decided to do one photobooth picture session per month; a new resolution of mine! This was the first one, February's. Ta-da!

I don't take food pictures very often when I eat but there was a decent amount of natural lighting at the table to give it a try. I got to try a dessert sampler that had an assortment of deliciousness such as a bread pudding, chocolate macaroon, creme brulee, and a warm apple cobbler topped with ice cream.

The more I grow, the more I realize how much my words effect others. The things I choose to say make me powerful. The way I choose to treat myself, and the words I use to describe how I feel about me influence two little girls in my home who are watching my every move. I am learning to make the choice to be kind to me. I have the power to help them see themselves the way I see them. Beautiful, magical, gifted, and wonderful in so many ways that they don't even realize, but helping them to see those things starts with seeing them in myself. I am grateful for this journey I am taking with my girls. I am learning so much.

Ha! This time I knew someone was behind me, unlike the time that I got photobombed by mimes.

I went fly fishing and brought my camera AND tripod. Coupled with the 10mm lens, I was able to get some 'perspective' shots of myself. Caught a few nice rainbows on dry flies tonight. Really lovely evening.

I thank everyone who continuously liking and commenting on my photos. I am extremely busy at work so I could not keep up with your comments. But thank you so much! Hope everyone has a great day! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"I love Tourists" c'est une histoire d'amour. Une romance entre les touristes et moi. Je les aime tel qu'ils sont, en masse, avec leur élégance naturelle, leur grâce et leurs traces de bronzage, avec leurs bourrelets et leurs coups de soleil, avec leurs palmes aux pieds et leurs bières à la main. Il faut dire qu'ils sont tellement beaux ! J'aime les touristes !
