Seaside cliffs of the Copalis National Wildlife Refuge

Japan really likes mountain golf courses. I approve

Taxiing back towards the parking apron

A bright row of houses and the Hallgrimskirkja church - one of the landmarks modeled accurately

After coming around Cape Fear I am met with a wall of clouds and cut throttle to drop back down to the deck, which I actually wanted to do anyways as I neared Myrtle Beach, SC

Cruising along Sandy Hook, the light spilling onto the ground is from the lighthouse there even though we couldn't actually see the light itself

Storms blowing past over the Orkney Islands to the north of Wick as I climb aboard for preflight

Coming over the Hudson River just north of the Alpine Tower that marks the northern end of the Skyline Route to allow me VFR passage through the Bravo airspace

Almost to the next coastal plain where Niigata awaits

The reddish sand of Rauðisandur beach

Can you spot the Tomioka Hachimangu shinto shrine? Hint - surrounded by lots of green

This airport used to not be able to handle jets like this back when I was a kid!

A crescent moon peeks out from the clouds

Following the Turnpike, with a better look at the moon and Andrew off behind me

Looking out over the Ikara-Flinders Ranges park area

Have a ways to go to my next POI so back up to 5,500'

Crossing the border from Egypt into Sudan

Down low, keeping a close eye on my compass. Have estimated ~8min travel time to the area where the whales were spotted

Shadows cover the Hayes River with Mt Dana to the left and Mt Norton about to pass under me

Flying along the rail lines leading to Takanawa Gateway Station as another aircraft ATC didn't warn me about flits past just overhead. If the weather were clearer I'd be able to see Mt Fuji on the horizon as well

Looking out over Yokohama as I circle the city's outskirts

More air traffic overhead - might have been that same guy done sightseeing and heading off on his way

Fido is sitting up and alert as I prepare for landing

The runway that hosted Red Bull racing planes when they had a circuit here in Tokyo

Somehow did not register a crash and was able to taxi off the runway and back to the stables

Parked at the hangars, which I initially thought caused the stall due to wind updraft as I passed over them. Review of the flight video however showed I just wasn't watching my airspeed well enough on approach

Smiley-faced water tower in Tainai I just happened to spot!

Low and flat on approach as usual - a few trees to watch out for

Looking past Flateyjardalur Beach down a long valley

The Ishikari River meets the Sea of Japan as I reach the outskirts of Sapporo, which is currently being menaced by low clouds

A prominent peak in the mountains of Monomanai that sadly does not have a name on the maps

Keilir Golf Club - pretty much all the golf courses I could find were right on the coast - easy way to avoid too much snow I guess in addition to the scenery

A final look back at the Yokohama skyline

Rt. 13 just north of Salisbury and is that an airport they missed? Nope, that's the Delaware International Speedway drag strip. Could have still landed there if I wanted to tho

Coming up on the Delaware River Turnpike toll bridge

Getting annoyed by the puffy clouds so close so going up for more space and also to stay out of controlled airspace along the coast

Made it through the upper haze of the storm with no icing issues and came out the other side in view of Norway

WAAUUUGHHGHGGH!!!! This passenger jetliner comes whizzing past me, departing from the wrong end of the runway. It just appeared in the middle and flashed by. Thank goodness the sim does not yet model wake turbulence!

One last look back at Anguilla and Saint-Martin

Some clouds are bubbling up above the deck but honestly I was a bit disappointed as I expected based on MeteoBlue weather reports to see towering cumulonimbus formations that I would have to dodge around
