Looking east out across the town of Takko - this was all frosted over last time I flew by

Keeping eyes out for any traffic from Tokyo Haneda

A beautiful crescent moon above

A look at the truck stop adjacent to the airport at Caiguna. The flag in front serves as my windsock

A closer look at the shiny roof of the Yoyogi National Gymnasium

One last look back at Bermuda passing through 12,000'

Passing over the airport and race track at Daytona

No weather station at this field so flying low to spot the windsock. Wait where's the windsock?? Arrrggghhhh

Looking out over Yokohama as I circle the city's outskirts

Somehow did not register a crash and was able to taxi off the runway and back to the stables

Letting down the gear as I line up for final into Chub Cay with the resort and marina in sight

The island of Crete, western end

Looking past Ōgimachi Park to the downtown skyline of Osaka and beyond to where the Yodo River empties into Osaka Bay

Switching over to autopilot so I can grab a snack on my way back to Honshu

Yep, here is a contradictory sock but one that matches the wind data I'm seeing outside the sim so I will trust it

Headed for Orcas Island, passing the Williamson Rocks

The rain band doesn't extend far inland and the winds are blowing it out to see so a little diversion won't cost me much

flight log from my first-ever solo flight (12/2/2002)

Not too low yet, the ceiling for the Delta airspace over Ormond Beach Muni is 1,200'

Cruising FL305 over the Blue Nile River

First flight log entry

Looking out over the Ikara-Flinders Ranges park area

Passing over the island of Anguilla

Bit of a dive on short final, still haven't gotten the hang of a good landing profile for this aircraft

Descending towards Moriyama and Kusatsu

Crabbing out on departure to try and stay on runway heading as the wind tries to blow me off to the side

Catastrophic mudslides, or lehars, have left their mark on the landscape as twisting canyons leading towards Cagayan de Oro

on the shore of Macajalar Bay

Settling in to cruising altitude as I come over the mountains of Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park with Fuji looming in the distance

Rounding the eastern tip of the northern range to find some impressive rock formations

The Maze Sea Circuit within the mountains on the coast. Cool!

The Jōetsu Shinkansen's elevated tracks cut through the farmland, heading south from Niigata. This is why there are so few airports in Japan, because the train travel is so good

Passing Niigata as I continue north towards the mountains

Have now turned westward towards Mount Iide, the peak in the foreground

Hard to make out additional volcanic peaks lost in the clouds as I exit Bandai Asahi National Park to the west, passing the city of Kitakata

Looking out over the valley that leads back to Yamagata

Road that follows the volcanic-origin Lake Hibara into the mountains

Looking south across Lake Hibara to Mount Bandai

Mount Adatara, highest peak in its range, blown open from an eruption in 1996

Getting cloudy up ahead as I approach Lake Inawashiro

Looking back at Lake Inawashiro as I continue south at 10,500'

Climbing at a much more leisurely pace up over Lake Inawashiro

Clouds are clearing up again as I look across Fukushima prefecture towards the Tochigi Prefecture

Taking a really close look at my tach as I lean my mixture for best RPM

Circling around Mount Nantai to head for Utsunomiya

I couldn't really find out *why* they built a road into the slope of Mount Nantai that doesn't make it all the way to the top but wow they did get close

Giving myself a second landing light as I descend towards Utsunomiya, looking back at Mount Nantai and the peaks surrounding it
