Sun is officially up, ready to depart

The Fitzroy River, largest river catchment flowing to the eastern coast of Australia, empties out into the Great Barrier Reef, although clouds obscure any of that unfortunately

Cruising past islands in the Capricorn Group, some of the most southern reaches of the Great Barrier Reef

Australia is hidden behind me under clouds

Okay the rain is sweeping back in, time to head back

Was too low to clearly make out the runway on my initial rollout to final - targeted the parking apron first before locking in on the lighter-colored runway and correcting

Approaching the mountains of Bandai Asahi National Park

Taking advantage of whatever holes I could see to try and see a distinguishing ground feature. I made sure to do all my navigation spotting from the cockpit and not allow the external came to give me a better view

The Japanese equivalent of the National Mall in D.C., with several national museums

On the approach, just have to clear over the top of a spit of Unga Island

Transitioned now from the inland Baxter Cliffs to the seaside Bunda Cliffs. Also noting another diversion option at the border of Western and Southern Australia, but not good runway alignment for the wind conditions

Smooth touchdown after the bumpy approach

The metropolis of Kassala? No, actually those tall buildings are all incorrectly modeled. But those Taka Mountains next to it are indeed some impressive geological formations I look forward to exploring in my Cessna 310 at some point

Another look at Shinjuku station and its surroundings from the north this time

Making a pass over the gap, I-80 running alongside the river through it into PA

A better view of the full extent of Mount Rishiri as I continue to work around the clouds

Messenia, a regional unit in the southwestern part of the Peloponnese region. To the upper right is the isle of Sapientza

More air traffic over head as I come along the Tsurumi Tsubasa Bridge. Still no notice from ATC

Tracked him out over the bay - there is an airport across the way in that direction but that's one hell of a shallow approach!

Top of descent, you can see a chain of Maldives islands within the glint of the sun on the water

Circled around Mount Chōkai, now headed south along the shore towards Sakata

With the wind at my nose for once was able to come in for a niiiice gentle landing

Cruising along Assateague Island at 1,200' to stay above the park zone but that was from memory - turns out it's actually 2,000' whoops well, I think I was outside it over the ocean well enough anyways

Point Atkinson Lighthouse as I come around to cross over the Burrard Inlet

Looking south as I cross the border from Sweden into Norway

Heading southwest from Mount Hayachine over the Iwate prefecture

Have come around to the south again to once more begin my journey down the Outer Banks

Visibility remains good enough for my visual approach

A pool of sedimentary deposits on the shore of Shark Bay

That is the airport dead ahead, making my "left turn to base"

If you couldn't pick out the airport in previous photos can you now? Having airports get lost in dense urban environments is a new realism aspect to MSFS2020 that you didn't really get in earlier sim versions where scenery was much more sparse

Short final over the urban sprawl surrounding the airfield

Oh god dammit I parked the wrong way

Cruising past Halifax, Nova Scotia

Heading up past the transition altitude of FL180 and my displays don't even remind me. You'd think the barometer would auto-adjust or at least flash to notify me. Nothing

Looking up the main harbor channel towards Tokyo

Thanks for nothing, ATC - but at least I never actually came close to hitting anything so I guess they just never had to tell me about any traffic that was a danger

Hands up! Down the hill we go! Wait no, hands on the controls!

Cruising south along the Lake shore, past St. Joseph and within sight of one another, admiring the pattern of cloud shadows across the landscape

*sigh* no luck again, climbing for altitude to continue onwards

Just some of the beaches and fantastic cliffs of Skeggjastaðahreppur

Distant mountains of Greece, likely those in the National Park of Tzoumerka, Peristeri & Arachthos Gorge and below my nose is the shore of Zakynthos Island
