Some high clouds ahead are forcing me to descend early. Want to get low for a better view of the Leeward Islands but not so soon

1/2 tank range check shows me looking good on fuel

Continuing north along the Leeward Islands reaching the southern tip of St Lucia in the West Indies. To the left of my nose and above my left wing is the lights from an airplane on approach

Making another descent for better views

Approaching the next island - Dominica

Ready to continue the journey eastward

A small, unnamed atoll just east of Gambier

Leveled out to let it catch up

Reduced power to put me within range of Easter Island with some reserve fuel

I don't remember why I sped up here, likely an IRL timing issue to get me there before I had to leave the house. Reducing my error margin a bit but I know from past experience this will still leave me one go-around if needed

I've replaced the END (endurance) with DTG (distance to ground) so I can see the total trip length when I have multiple legs and don't need endurance time since I have the range ring on my map display

It's a bit dark inside the cockpit when you're flying into the sun so turning up the panel lights a bit which was when I realized the oxygen was still deployed from over 3hrs ago. Derp

Closing in on Easter Island as my reserve fuel limit gets closer as well

Top of descent towards Easter Island

Coming off AP to make my turn to base for a visual straight-in approach

I decide to pull up in front of the terminal, which was very well modeled

On the ground at Nouméa in New Caledonia getting ready for preflight

Climbing up through the scattered clouds as I head out over New Caledonia, looking north over the higher and more rugged parts of the country

Almost back on track for a Vy ascent

Looking north over Blue River Provincial Park towards Mont Humboldt peeking out from behind some clouds, tallest peak on the southern portion of the island, with a slightly taller peak on the northern

Southern tip of New Caledonia

Passing south of the Loyalty Islands

What is wrong with this picture?

More storms - hoping not to have to deal with any of this at my destination

Fuel situation still "good" - as in I could slow down and move out my reserve ring but I'm within my range ring so I'll be fine - right? RIght. Note how my tail wind has lost its gusto by now

Passing over the island of Niuatoputapu, Tonga

Watching the light disappear

Top of descent towards the eastern-most island with an airfield in American Samoa

Coming down through the clouds

Lights of civilization out my window as I pass by American Samoa

I can make this work, I can make this work....

Coming around on downwind. My gear is up and I raised my flaps lever but I failed to check if I actually raised it high enough to trigger the flaps back to T/O position, I did not and went through the whole pattern with flaps set to LDG. Derp. I'm also starting to sweat as fuel low warnings have come on

Attempting to spot the runway as I fly past on downwind

Coming around for my second and final attempt

Came down for an average landing of 1.5Gs and successfully engaged reverse thrust. PHEW!!

So happy to be taxiing off the runway towards the tarmac rather than over running into the ocean

Straight-in to the middle parking spot, nice and easy

Waiting for daylight before continuing the journey east, contemplating my lessons learned!

Lake King Nature Reserve, with the large lake body not charted at all

On the ground at Bunbury ~100mi south of Perth getting ready for startup
