Shinjuku Station surrounded by skyscrapers, including the oddly-shaped Tokyo Mode Gakuen, containing several higher level educational institutions
Have turned west to follow I-90 towards the Cascades. Mt Rainier looms on the horizon while off to the left is a less conspicuous Mt Adams
One final pass over Sandusky and a last glance towards Cedar Point amusement park, home to some of the world's most famous roller coasters
Over the largest island of French Polynesia, Tahiti - with the largest mountain in the region: Mount 'Orohena
Short final to a short runway! 60kts is the minimum normal recommended landing speed but I'm going to want to slow even further - cut throttle!
Checking out the peak of Mount Iwaki - which isn't supposed to have trees all the way up to the top but also isn't snow-capped year round
Exiting the Bravo airspace with haste, that is the South Cement Plant which means I'm under a 3,000' floor now
Short final for Key West Int'l - I have drawn a line where the nose of the aircraft is actually pointed so you can see how sideways I am crabbing in against a 14kt crosswind
Approach into the wooded grass strip of Örestens Flygfält - unfortunately I forgot to record my landing so was not able to recreate it afterwards
Andrew still way off to my left as we begin a short pass through Indiana, near the southern end of the Lake, flying over Michigan City
With over 100nm until my final destination I decided to head all the way up to 18,500' to get the best views and also take advantage of a nice 24kt tail wind
Iffy skies over Komatsu Airport that looks like weather could be going bad or good - forecast says good tho so time to climb aboard
Water from the Bandak lake flows into the Kviteseidvatn lake as the green continues to dominate the landscape
The Miyama Dam is one of many in the mountains to capture meltwater and use it for irrigation and power production
My attempt to tell the autopilot to descend met with a similar fate to the ascent attempt, except this was more dangerous because of the potential for over speed!
Approaching the Mashike Mountains and considering how I want to do this. If the clouds are right on the other side, then I should go low and around to the right rather than straight ahead and over. The gap between the clouds and ground to the right however tell me they are farther away than they look
As I descended towards Iwaonai Lake I could make out that the mountains I would be flying over up ahead were below the clouds so continued to descend beneath them
Juuuust made it, as the sun cracks over the horizon. Though if we had arrived later this airport would have accomodated night time VFR no problem
Coming up through the clouds. No over-torque warnings or ITT warnings as I did a proper job of managing the throttle on this ascent
