Got closer and saw it wasn't rain, just fog, so punched through

Climbing back up to get over the oncoming terrain

Well at least paying my landing/tie down fees will be easy! Look forward to the next leg, this plane is fun

Spotting some traffic passing by up above as I realize I will have to climb higher to avoid clouds up ahead

Cruising over Virginia Beach with sun glinting off the waters ahead and... water to the right? Wait there's no water over there...

A nice wide field with an easy paved strip for the final destination - Big Creek

Halfway through my crossing of the Coral Sea and suddenly my throttle cuts and my flaps drop to T/O position. I have no idea why - I don't recall bumping anything and both my hardware throttle and flap levers were not moved at all. WTF? I recovered the throttle in a few minutes after I noticed it but I did not see the flaps indicator showing T/O position

Oh dear, that is definitely rain out there over Nagoya

Lining up for approach as I fly past the city of Aomori

Yup, skimming through some light scud at the bottom of the cloud layer

Cruising past Fairfax, MN - the AI does a poor job here, looking too hard for places to put trees. None of these fields should look like forests but to be honest the trees are mostly lost in the green anyways

Final look at the tip of Cape Cod, can just make out the approach lighting into Provincetown

It's quite a dynamic weather day, given a few days of storms have just finished blowing through. Looking at Waldron Island off towards Vancouver Island

Heading for the active, which is the runway I was hoping to takeoff from. Winds in my favor!

Heading west from Socorro, NM. A better view here of how the Rio Grande affects the landscape, similar to the Nile

*pats self on the back* switch to local barometer just below transition altitude

Last VFR waypoint before the Lake, a huge windfarm

Looking back over the Caicos Islands

Looking back at the twin peaks of Pico Duarte (left) and Loma La Pelona (right)

Starting my descent towards Robinson Crusoe Island, passing its only nearby companion, Alejandro Selkirk Island

Cleared the Nagoya Hills without hitting any rain just misty clouds. The city of Nagoya is in sight through the rain curtains but still not sure if the airport is clear of the weather. ATC has not revoked my landing clearance yet tho

Buzzing the central Orkney city of Kirkwall, largest in the islands

Getting ready to begin my descent to Cairo as I make landfall over Alexandria
