The Bay finally froze solid on Nov. 15, a full 2 weeks later than normal. Today (Nov 17) there are 3 inches of good ice and people are walking across.
Finally arriving at Narita Airport Terminal 2. It's already night. Taking the Keisei Limited Express to Nippori. Train opposite me is the JR line.
last night, when i was resignated to go to sleep without seeing snow again, it snowed!! so i went down in my pyjamas and enjoyed it and freezed my ass off trying to take a picture :P the only way i could was with flash but i'm not that happy about how bright the picture is, anyway i did my best in the edition so i still like it and.. it snowed!!!
The brooding mass of Suilvan - a long time on Jon's wish list for climbing. I'm glad to say he finally ticked this one off. Completed in just under 8 hours doing the long walk from Lochinver.
Finally used some of the 9-patch blocks I made ages ago in Amanda Jean's 9-patch-along. Little baby quilt for a friend's new baby girl. Blogged here.
We had some pretty significant damage to one room in our house as a result of "snowmageddon"...so since early February, our house was in total upheaval. Three couches in the living room, a television and entertainment center in the dining room, so on and soforth.
Well, we finally got everything back together save for a ceiling fan that needs to get re-installed. It's been a pain in the ass, but now that it's all done, it really looks nice and it's ours. We would have never chosen to redo that room 'cause we practically live in there exclusively. So: blessing in disguise? Not sure I'm ready to commit to that, but it's nice now that it's done.
After many failed attempts of getting a photo of this bus, I finally have a relatively good one! 4700 is the best of a bad bunch.
Finally, for the clumsiest person in the world, a ridable vehicle! I've wanted an old-lady trike for so long, and I'm very excited to finally have one. Monty is less excited and Herr Doktor Der Husband is slightly embarrassed to be seen with me.
We bought it secondhand from a granny in the Hechtviertel; she'd bought it for an ailing husband whose health deteriorated faster than expected, so it's barely used.
We drove there with Jules' bike in the back of our car, parked, and then all biked home (Jules picked the car up on his way home from work the next day). The Monster tried to jump out once but seemed pretty philosophical about the whole thing--I guess a dog of this level of laziness isn't going to protest too much about being schlepped about.
And I only needed three breaks in those eight kilometres, which I know is laughable to anyone in shape but I think isn't actually that bad for someone who last pedalled almost thirty years ago.
Threads Together Bee Quilt finally finished! It is about 50 X 62. I chose the fabrics and assembled the quilts. The ladies of the Threads Together Quilting Bee put these blocks together about 5 years ago now. So glad to put them to use finally!
Morgan Local Schools 41 - 1997 Crown by Carpenter Ford - Retired; Mike & B Sales - Newcomerstown, Ohio. Bus sat around the bus yard at Morgan for a few years before finally being sold to Mike & B Sales. One of originally three 1997 models once in the fleet.
Crazy day of parties and activities, none of them for the adults of the house. I did finally get my upgrade though :)
I have been wanting to see the Devil's coach horse beetle since I came to England. It is common, but until now our paths had not crossed. But right during a lecture it came careening across the floor towards me! For a while it hid in a crack in the sole of my shoe, which was both touching and annoying.
