"Silver" inlaid chopsticks made the wrong ends heavy. Nice touch, even if the chopsticks were plastic.

It was a chilly 15C with South Westerly winds!
This is the fantastic chilli oil they have at Wonton House. It is almost like a chilli jam, a bit spicy, but yet able to accomodate the sweetness of the caramelised onions and other flavours in the mix.

Fetta and avocado is an interesting mix! The avocado tempers the tang of the fetta. Almonds seems to provide a bit of colour and variety.

The tasting platter was definitely the way to go for variety. The platter was let down by the salty prosciutto and olives, the smoked salmon and mousseline was excellent, as was the milk-fed lamb which went surprisingly well with the sambal beans!
The feta was rich and creamy, but wasn't strong enough, perhaps not to offend the senses of foreign dignitaries who might dine here.
Similarly the veal carpaccio was beautifully presented, but insufficiently robus to stand up to the rocket leaves and dressing.
Full descriptions:
- Smoked Tasmanian Salmon filled with mousseline
- Aromatic Vegetable
Confetti and a creamy Persian feta dressing
- Olives
- Carpaccio of Yarra Valley venison loin, juniper, aged Parmesan shavings and virgin olive oil
- prosciutto
- Milk-fed Lamb with sambal green beans garnished with an Asian Beansprout Salad.

Eggplant Lasagne - Arintji.
No pasta in his one, just meat and eggplant. Interesting low-carb option!
EX-FR series are the cameras which can separate a lens and a controller. EX-FR200 has a 185°angle of view, single-focus f/2.8 Dome View lens.
We attached the lens to a 70D.
When you want to take the photo of wide-angle and telephoto at the same time, it's useful.
My husband wrote the review about Casio EXILIM EX-FR200, in Japanese.

Eva's yummy chocolate fudge brownies with a crunchy top!
Best served warmed with a dollop of ice cream which melts into the rich slice of fudge.

Good Turkish food at a family run restaurant. They have a big wood-fired oven for bread and baked dishes and a charcoal grill for juicy smoky grilled meats!

Claypot King, another new claypot rice place, but this time on Swanston Street. How long will it survive?
Update 2007.01.11, in a great location with foot traffic from the day tour buses on the opposite side of Swanston Street, business seems good, despite the disappointing food, served in gimicky claypots and sizzling hotplates:
- Tofu and Vegetable Claypot Rice
- Pork Ribs with Taro and Pumpkin Claypot Rice
- Double-Boiled Silkie Bantam Chicken and American Ginseng Soup

I got caught in the sudden downpour, so I decided to check out the iPod Touch at Myer
Melbourne Apple Shop. The iPod Touch is basically an iPhone, without the phone.
I liked the nice bright shiny screen. The touch-sensitive screen wasn't bad. The lack of scroll bars in Safari was a bit weird at first, but scrolling by a flick or a finger was quite intuitive. When you reach the bottom, or try to go past the top, the screen bounces, as if it were rubbery! :)
I managed to read most of (the first page of) Gizmodo using my thumb to thumb/scroll the page.
The onscreen keyboard was quite easy to use, even with my fat fingers, but for heavy typing, the two thumb approach didn't quite work out.

Aunt Lay Leong's Black Pepper Chicken had a peppery sauce nicely balance by the sweet dark soy sauce.
The sumptuous dinner prepared by Aunt Lay Leong:
- Soy Stewed Pork with Peanuts and Beancurd Puffs
Classic Italian Potatoes, complimentary with a href="/photos/avlxyz/414511957/">Crisp roasted duckling main.
Classic! :)
- Risotto of Blue Swimmer Crab with Tomato and Basil
- Crisp roasted duckling with blood orange sauce and amarena cherries
- Red and white witlof with slow baked onion

Gazpacho made with tomatoes and roquette.
The roquette flavour wasn't very noticible. I was expecting a more pungent flavour.
The colour isn't very exciting either. I guess the red from the tomatoes added to the green roquette and made it poo-brown! :)

Three Indian curry places have just opened at the top of Bourke Street, with more to come!
I tried Green Pepper and Jaipur and the verdict seems to be that the spices have been toned down. I like my curries full of spices, but not necessarily full of chillies.
What was surprising was that, despite the mild spice, a large proportion of the clientele were Indian, and presumably including Pakistanis and Sri Lankans. Maybe it is authentic, and the spicy-storm is only typical of Malaysian Indian food.

Interesting!
It's the pity the images can't follow you around! :)
I read about this in Gizmodo a while back and now I see this in Melbourne Central!
Not very inspiring when it is turned off.
