Viennese Chicken Schnitzel, with sugar snap peas and baby potatoes - Luna Park
Very rich cream sauce!
Poached free-range chicken with roasted pumpkin and spinach, drizzled with burnt butter and almond sauce.
The butter sauce was still a bit rich, even though I used equal parts of light olive oil and butter.
Whitebait with Sesame Oil and Soy Sauce Dressing
Looked quite scary before I marinated it in sesame oil and soy sauce.
I wish I had some tobiko, because that's what an inspired Japanese sushi chef did!
Looked quite scary before I marinated/poached/cooked them! At least the results weren't bad. Not very tasty, but not totally tasteless either.
The Wikipedia describes whitebait as slimy, translucent worms, which I won't disagree :)

Inspired by the Whitebait with Tobiko and Shiso that I had in Kamakura, Japan!
Thai-style Spa Resort - Falls Creek
Looks a bit cheesy, but I'm all for a massage after a long day skiing!
Spanish Seafood Stew with tomato and saffron. Quite delicious!
Livebait website. Review by John Weldon, The Age, May 2004. Mietta's Review.
Rich and creamy seafood chowder. I would have prefered a shellfish based stock. The fish-stock in this chowder was a bit overpowered by the cream, which while very indulgent, didn't give the stock much of a chance.
$15.
Just cooked calamari, but it was deep-fried not grilled, but not greasy. The soy marinade gave it a good colouring and taste.

A simple dish of blanched young artichokes with extra virgin olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice.
It's obvious the resolution of an ultra compact can't beat a DLSR, but you can just see the feathery antenna of this moth. You can also see some graininess in the wings. I also cheated by cropping this photo. The original contained about twice as much empty space.
This was a big moth, measuring around 2.5cm/1inch long.
I wonder what the wingspan would be?
Yummy Trio of Cheese Tarts at Ripe, Mt Dandenong.
Clockwise from left, Brie and Pear, Blue cheese and Fig, Goat cheese and quince, with a balsamic reduction.
The crowd turnout was a bit less than years past, probably due to the rain clouds. It was still quite busy!

Hand so fast, they are but a blur. Dumplings being made by the chef at Noodle Kingdom Restaurant, Box Hill. Excellent noodles, dumplings and steamed buns..
I can't quite place the style of the lamps, perhaps 70s art deco?

Mum-in-Law Jennie's Spiced Pearl Pasta Salad with Cashews and Sultanas.
Nice and spicy! And the pearl pasta was just the right side of al-dente. The pearl pasta is a bit like 3mm diameter couscous.
When we went camping at Mt Feathertop we stopped by at Weston's Nut Farm to stock up on nuts. We got some walnuts and pecans, and we couldn't resist the Raspberry and Macadamia Panforte!
It was full of chocolatey goodness, but the raspberry pips were a bit annoying.
There's lots of interesting local produce around Bright and the Alpine Region.
