This past Summer Santa Clara County Fire Department placed two new KME Predator Fire Engines into service, one as Engine 10 based out of Sunnyoaks Fire Station, and this rig, Engine 16 based at Loyola Fire Station.
The rigs were built by KME on their Predator Severe Service chassis and feature a 1250 GPM Hale Pump.
Engine 16 was wosing for photos during the February Fire Associates meeting at Loyola Fire Station,

The main engine room of U505, a German U-Boat, captured off the coast of Bermuda in 1944. There was an Enigma encoding machine aboard the U505. This was a turning point in WWII.
A podracer engine I'm working on. I'm looking for constructive feedback. I don't want to say what my theme is, but I'm trying not to use any colors, and I'm kind of going for a minimalist/streamlined look. I've discovered that it is hard to do "minimalist/streamlined" without straying into "boring" territory. The other side of the engine is not finished, but I'm planning on just having the power coupling with a small patch of greebling next to it. Thanks!
Thought and prayers are with the family of the two firefighters at Boston Engine 33. (and fellow company, Ladder 15). They gave us a tour of the station in August.

There is it -- detuned with a 5sp gearbox, but it's a good engine. The previous owner dyno tuned it to make about 120hp, but it's still docile and very quiet running.
Kellham Museum of engineering this engine used to run on town gas but it made the whole museum smell of gas so unfortunately it is now run by an electric motor.

The lettering on Engine 2's rear doors was manufactured by Leo's Gold Lion Products in Uvalde, Texas. The material is a gold leaf pattern printed on vinyl, which provided a considerable savings over using traditional gold leaf lettering.
Engine 2 is a 1996 Pierce Quantum purchased used in 2007 from the Travis County Emergency Services District No. 2 in Pflugerville, Texas. It has served full-time duty as the apparatus for Maumelle Engine Company 2 since November 2008. It is scheduled to be renamed Engine 3 and return to reserve status in May or June 2010.
I had a blown head gasket, so i pulled the engine to make that easier. I had teh transmission rebuilt while the engine was out. I replaced all the suspension bushings, new lowered springs, shocks, and brake rotors.

Here she is! Engine 106 is the former Sequoia Rescue Engine 2 and is housed alongside Truck 6 and Engine 6.
Like the rest of Station 6, Engine 106 previously served Sequoia Fire Department. It is different from the rest of the engine fleet as it is setup as an engine with a rescue-style body because in it's former role, this particular apparatus was first due for MVA's, rescue calls, and mutual aide. This apparatus will be special in the department because it will be 1 of 3 light force engines that will be staffed by 4 (The others are Engine 105 and Engine 107).
Rear of the apparatus shows the large hosebed which carries 750 ft of 4 in LDH and 400 ft of 2.5 in hose. Beside the hosebed is the ground ladder compartment which stores two 24 ft extension ladders, a 14 ft roof ladder, pike poles, and other long tools. Underneath the hosebed are couplings and adapters for hydrants, hoses, and other engine company work.

After nearly 4 weeks, my last order finally came! With that being said, Engine 106 is the first one to be built. Truck 6 and Engine 6 are in production, and I'm looking to complete them within the next 2 days! Stay tuned for more!

The exposed engine bay on this el cheapo diecast leaves you in no doubt it has been copied from the original Hot Wheels 1967 Pontiac Firebird Custom. The engine block shares its colour with the blue glazing giving it a rather naff appearance though that is perhaps the least of its worries judging by its entire lower half being made of cheap black plastic!
Made by an unknown Chinese manufacturer but sold as a Kidway product in France and comes in a 20 vehicle set.
