Charles Babbage (1791-1871), computer pioneer, designed the first automatic computing engines. He invented computers but failed to build them. The first complete Babbage Engine was completed in London in 2002, 153 years after it was designed. Difference Engine No. 2, built faithfully to the original drawings, consists of 8,000 parts, weighs five tons, and measures 11 feet long.
This Chevy 350 engine is going to go into my 260Z. Marking progress as this is not something typically done for these cars. Day 1, engine prepped. To note, engine was pumpkin orange, and surface rusted in some spots. Engine as sits took approximatly 4 hours to clean and paint.

1936 Lincoln Zephyr V-12 cylinder engine, L-head valves, 267 cubic inches displacement,
110 horsepower
Edsel Ford introduced the lower-priced Zephyr to help Lincoln through the Depression. Its V-12 engine, adapted from Ford’s monobloc V-8, banked its cylinders at 75 degrees, allowing the unit to fit neatly into the streamlined body. Unfortunately, inadequate ventilation and poor oil flow led to overheating and excessive wear. Still, with 200,000 sold, it remains the most successful Ameri- can-built V-12. In the late lamented Young's Brewery in Wandsworth, London in October 1991. Young's were a bastion of tradition. Now the brewery is gone and their pubs are now largely up-market dining destinations. They sell beers badged as 'Youngs' - but they are contract brewed by someone else.
This was one of two beam engines. They weren't regularly used, but were still steamable. Today they remain in situ in the redeveloped site as they are 'listed'.
Which is basically a Triumph TR3 engine, with some adjustments to fit the Italian designed (Michelotti) body. One of 70 still remaining.
