Hamilton Township, Ohio Fire Department Engine 181 with Columbus Ladder 8 on scene of a 3 alarm fire in Reynoldsburg.
The engine looks pretty simple, and it probably is pretty simple. It reminds me of a Bill Cosby album ("200 MPH") where he expresses his annoyance towards VW owners. He makes a sound of the engine, and then he speaks like a VW owner, "We get a hundred miles to the gallon. And if the fan belt breaks, we use a rubber band!" And then Cosby makes the same engine sound, as the owner presumably drives off. (And, yes, before all this mess about Cosby was exposed, I used to listen to his albums as a kid, practically memorizing them. The part about the Volkswagens was especially funny, as it wasn't that far removed from the truth.)
The 67 at the upper left corner might be the year of the car, I don't know. I do know that for years Volkswagen never changed the exteriors of their Beetles, so unless one owned one it was hard to distinguish an older one from a newer one, until finally someone at VW decided that maybe it wasn't a bad idea to change the design of the outside of the car as well.
Last night I went to get Melinda and I some dinner and I grabbed my camera bag at the last minute thinking maybe I would see something on my way that I could get a photo of since I hadn't really taken any shots this week. I drove over by the Great Western Sugar Mill where they had this train pulled up - this is the first engine - I'll show some photos of the second engine in the next few days.
Looks almost the same as the previous posting but look closer and the boiler seen through the front spectacle plate is larger and there are side tanks not a saddle tank. This is NER H/LNER Y7 0-4-0T 1310, built at Gateshead in 1891, at the other end of the shuttle from Mountsorrel to Swithland which I fired on a couple of trips to give Pete a break. We are stationary at Nunckley Hill. Wood Lane bridge was packed with spectators and photographers all day.
Last weekend passenger trains ran on the new Mountsorrel branch to Swithland Sidings for the first time.
The Colorado Railroad Museum's collection of steam engines features a nice selection of railroad treasures. Many of the engines run and there is an incredible shop and roundhouse at the museum as well.

The White Pass and Yukon Route railway is a 110 mile long railroad whose building was financed by the British Close Brothers (William, Fred and James Close) between 1898 and 1901.
It is a narrow guage railroad that connects Skagway, Alaska, on the west coast of Alaska, and Whitehorse Yukon, in the Canadian interior.
Engine 51 was one of the first locomotives used on the railway. It also operated briefly on the Atlin Short Line Railway, also known as the Taku Tramline, across the isthmus from Taku Arm, near the mouth of the Atlin River, to Scotia Bay, on the west shore of Atlin Lake. That 2.5-mile stretch of railway had the distinction of being the shortest railroad in Canada.
Engine 51 has been a part of the MacBride museum collection for a long time now and is currently residing beside the Yukon River while the MacBride undergoes a long awaited expansion.

I discovered this spanking new mid-engine Corvette in my church parking lot on December 8, 2019 as I was arriving for the service. The car is undergoing testing by a GM employee.

One of Silverstone's brand new fire tender vehicles parked up on the perimiter of the circuit.
Blue light-equipped and loaded with fire extinguishers these can usually be found rushing to the scene of an on-circuit incident, although they are also utilised on the Silverstone site generally.
Pictured in July 2018 at the British Grand Prix meeting at Silverstone.
NOTE ON GROUPS
Usually I'd post this to more groups but, unfortunately, the ridiculous new limit on the number of groups that a picture can be added to prevents this.
If any group admins would like the picture in their particular group I'm afraid you'll either have to invite it or remove the posting limit for your chosen group.
If you don't know about the new group posting limits that were introduced by the back door a few months ago and would like to change your group back to the way it used to be, here is the link on how to do it:--
