I try to leave them alone for the most part. The papa helps me with my roots once a month or so (obviously not this month). I haven't had any negative comments to my face as of yet, but I'll just let people know that I'm obviously a rockstar when they ask what the crap I have done to my head.
This is from the 5-6 months of so in-between the time I cut off my first set of locks to starting my second set. I had about three inches of growth during this time. The first picture is my hair in knots, they are called Bantu knots. I did it myself. I liked this hairstyle a lot because at the time I had a three year old and a newborn, that's them in the picture, and once I did it I could keep it like that for a week or so without fussing with my hair. Plus it is a very cute style.

I woke up with a bit of frizz this morning, and after being out all day in the fresh air + some wind, I had more frizziness... quick messy bun to the rescue.
These are about 4 years old....I made them. This is my boyfriend Anthony. He's not really a viking, he's italian, but he had 12 skulls of bone, and pewter, and jasper and carnelian all woven into the locks.
I curled my dreadlocks with drinking straws!
