Seen in Shoreditch on a graffiti walk with Joe O'Malley and June Purkiss. The art here is by Dreph and I watched as people passed by...guess I got lucky with this guy and his matching dreadlocks!
Dreadlocks are rich in history. The first historical mention of dreadlocks is found in ancient Indian and this is where « God stored the power of the river in his hair ».
Saw this guy at an Ephel Duath concert at Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff and asked him if I could take a photo. Seemed like a really decent bloke.

Strobist info: 550EX on camera used to trigger handheld 580EX with stofen omnibounce, held in left hand. Two photos comped together. Stood him away from any walls and greatly underexposed the background to get it nearly black, then touched out any remaining highlights in photoshop.
Los dreadlocks son un tipo de peinado utilizado mayormente por los practicantes de un movimiento socio-cultural llamado rastafarismo. No es fácil de lograr, es común que se tarde en conformar bien el peinado de 4 a 6 meses con muchos cuidados ya que necesita dedicación, tiempo e higiene. La incultura ha llegado a promover que esto se logra con meses de falta de peinado y falta de lavado del pelo.
En varios lugares del mundo el hacer dreadlocks es considerado un arte, no sólo por su dedicación artÃstica sino también por su significado que denota cultura, reflexión y compromiso con la naturaleza.
