Here are my babies after their first bath. I washed them with Dr. Bronner's soap (Lavender). I think I'm going to have to find another scent, though. While I love to bathe my body in the Lavender scented liquid soap, it doesn't really appeal to me on my hair.
These dreads were found playing club rugby at Mount Maunganui in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. While quite long, they are not the longest dreads in rugby: rugbyhair.com/2009/06/06/longest-dreads-in-rugby/
Added some new colours to my hair.... you can see the blue, but red, green, and purple are hiding....
I looked to the moon
I looked to the stars
I looked far and wide
Far away but so close in my mind
Taking our time in this fast universe
We see what is coming our way
We love to play
You adore me
I adore you
You love me
And I love you
When the cup is half full
And the water has run dry
I played with fantasies
And manifested this empty world
Filling your cup with stranger things
Dealing with spooky girls like me
Waiting away the time
Can you keep hanging on
I can if you will
Mary Judah has been after me for a few weeks to put her hair in dreads. We did it yesterday and she looks AWESOME!
Another one from my Montreal metro series. Inspired by the gorgeous cyan & black floor art in the mezzanine of Acadie station.
♥ ♥ I design all my own patterns. Please respect my hard work -- do not copy my designs. Let's all bead ethically! Thanks.
I woke up with a bit of frizz this morning, and after being out all day in the fresh air + some wind, I had more frizziness... quick messy bun to the rescue.
I love making these, it gives me a chance to bust into my huge stash of beautfiul yarns! It is crochet free-hand from a number of gorgeous handspun and hand dyed wool yarns, organic cotton, recycled sari silk and banana fiber yarns. This Headband has an awesome crochet motif sewn onto it with shiny beads and a shell in the middle. It looks great on and the natural fibers in the yarn will keep your head very warm.
It will best fit a head with lots of hair or dreadlocks, just pull all your hair through the top and rock on!
This pic is from late August 2005. I put my hair up in a style called bantu knots. After I took them down a few days later, my locks were very curly. The curls lasted about a week.

Here are my newly formed baby dreadlocks from the side/back. We didn't officially count them, but I think it's safe to say that there is at least 75 of them.
