I really do love this girl heh. But her hair is a pain in the arse to keep dreaded. It's Kanekellon or something, which doesn't like to knot.
This pic is from late August 2005. I put my hair up in a style called bantu knots. After I took them down a few days later, my locks were very curly. The curls lasted about a week.

I have thin hair so i go to a Loctician (an African Woman here in miami.) She does wonders! This is her result! (Doing it myself was NOT helping lol) Taken just after getting it done monday morning: Feb 17th, 08.
I spent about half an hour or so just twisting and twisting. Notice how it managed to calm things down a bit.
For the record, I am just loving my hair. Each dread has it's own personality and I must admit that I'm really digging the curls.

May 13, 2007 --- Two weeks old
For Mother's Day, my husband took me on a 40 mile bike ride. Between the fact that it had been four days since my last washing and wearing that bike helmet all morning, my head was in desperate need of some cleansing. This was after the washing, the vinegar rinse, and some twist drying (with the help of my daughter). I look a bit like Medusa right now, but they'll lay down once I sleep on them tonight. I also took the bands off of the tips. I'm much happier with the way they look now.
Mary Judah has been after me for a few weeks to put her hair in dreads. We did it yesterday and she looks AWESOME!
This is what they look like in the beginning about 5 days after a retwist. Lol. It takes patience people!
Now
Inside this moment
I can see us so clearly now
Reasons and explanations come
Pouring out of your mind
I can see your struggle
You carry it well
Can you drop your load for one second
We dip into our highs and lows
And still I have hope
I have faith in you
I tried some post editing on this one, but it was just taking up too much of my time. So I decided to leave it as it was taken. The Fencer, calm but weary, is admiring the waterfall in Cerro Azul. View in Black background
Retreat
The basic backwards movement. Rear foot reaches backwards and is firmly planted, then front leg pushes body weight backwards smoothly into 'en garde' stance.
