These are about 4 years old....I made them. This is my boyfriend Anthony. He's not really a viking, he's italian, but he had 12 skulls of bone, and pewter, and jasper and carnelian all woven into the locks.
I love making these, it gives me a chance to bust into my huge stash of beautfiul yarns! It is crochet from a number of gorgeous handspun and hand dyed wool yarns, organic cotton, hemp and silk mixtures, recycled sari silk and banana fiber yarns. It looks great on and all the natural fibers in the yarns will keep your head very comfortable.
It will best fit a 23"-24" head (this measurment is taken with the measuring tape fitted snuggly around the head OVER the ear) with lots of hair or dreadlocks, just pull all your hair through the top and rock on!
I curled my dreadlocks with drinking straws!

We'll see how long I keep this up...I'm going to try to do one portrait a week. Just something to keep my camera clicking.
The wisdom soaks into your soul
Reminders of worlds past
Waking up to a new world
A new perspective
A chance to breathe
An opportunity to understand the purpose
We travel so far and so wide
To keep going in circles
Seeing faces that make no sense
The crimes and destruction
It is all an illusion
To create confusion
Look deep into your self and truly see
My hair is so thin that when it's up in buns, you can't even really tell I have dreads. I've said it before, but I don't know why I waited so many years to dread my hair. It is the only way I've ever been happy with my hair every day.
Sooo the other week when I was in Nederland for the Coffin Race and seen this guy with long Dreadlocks - took his photo but never seen his face. Soo the other day I'm walking into down town Denver and at 20 and I-25 is a skate board area with lots of holes. I seen this guy with these Dreadlocks, so is it the same person or a different one? Looks to me the Dreadlocks are different.
