Castlefest Winter 2019, Lisse

I have been wearing ponytail dreads for years that I made for myself, and always get compliments. So, I've decided to make them for others.

These Ponytail dreadlocks are perfect for the colorful & wild at heart who has to look "proper" at times. Made from hand-dyed felted wool, these multi-colored dreads are attached to a ponytail holder, making them removable from your hair. Wear them down with your ponytail, or wrap them around in a bun and secure with a hair stick. For a hair stick, you can use an actual hair stick, a chop stick, paintbrush, pencil, or double-pointed knitting needle.

that's the carnelian skull at the bottom.

The sun is hidden

But I can feel her

Her glowing inspiration

Her fantastic energy

I take her in

To fuel my day

Heading toward the sixth month mark and finally the locks are starting to feel like they they are beginning to mature. They're mostly keeping themselves separate unless I wash them, and then it's like I have velcro on my head and the ripping apart begins.

It looks like messy unkempt hair, with only the occasional chunky strand to even indicate it might be something else.

Always fuzzy after wash day (every other day) haha! I leave the tips wispy, not a fan of blunted tips for myself.

Trying out a new style

The morning after I back-combed them in I had a fit of apprehension and pulled most of them apart, then told myself I was being silly, resectioned them to be thinner and redid them.

as a pagan priestess I thought this sign was the most hilarious thing ever and just had to pose with it!! notice the united methodist words? this is in front of the big church in the center of a friends town,. guess I wont be welcome there!! lolololol!

You shine everyday

You nourish us so completely

And you give me good thoughts

I ask you to send all of the love

I ask you to bless those I love

I ask you to keep on shining

And I will stop my whining

And get on to the ways of Mother Nature

So two years worth of growth achieved and I'm pretty happy with the progress, wisps and all. I also made the decision to let my fringe grow out as it's something that I've been pondering on over the last few months. I was getting fed up of trimming it and it seems somehow right that if I'm letting my hair do it's own thing, then that should include the fringe too. It's already falling into sections but is probably a little short to start locking up yet.

Being able to tie my hair up like this from time to time really helps. I also love the fact that having the young dreadlocks there gives so much more body than brushable hair ever gave me.
