Just before I tore most of the fatties into smaller dreads- I somewhat regret that I tore apart these big beauties, but my dreads are SOO much more comfortable now..
Hmm, wonder if I can make this one wavy? DS picked out color and dread to wrap, so that makes this one "his".
Lots of loopiness. I did a bunch of separating and palm-rolling about 2 days ago but you can't tell. My sis tied a few dreads with embroidery string - even wrapped the entire length of one underneath. I still need to do some serious maintenance though

This is from early 2001, about 3 years after starting my second set of dreadlocks. They were about 10-12 inches long. The front of my hair is undreaded, that's my "bang". I like it because it can alter my look depending on how I feel, I can style it in little twists, cornrow it, wrap it around a couple of locks and pull it back, fluff it up into an afro ridge. I have very dark hair hair, my natural hair color is jet black. I get asked a lot if I have dyed my locks this dark, to my surprise. Nope, this is my natural hair color.
*Amended 2007* I have dyed my hair recently as my locks were lighter due to streaking from the sun after an overly enthusiastic lemon-session last summer, LOL. I picked blue-black but as far as I can tell it came out just jet-black. Humph
