Woolly Wormhead designs some fab slouchy hats - this is Abalone. Perfect for bad hair days or hiding baby locks.

Slightly damp and freshly redyed with more vermillion. My hair shrinks up fantastically after it's been blow dried and before I start ripping apart the locs.

Wispy wispy tails.

A bit loopy, mostly still messy. They do have something of a sapling look about them.

Dreadlock therapy - probably the best thing I've done for myself in recent years. Before I started along this line there was a period of several years where I didn't want a camera pointing at me under any circumstance.

My friend did some maintenance and cut some loopies and really helped them straighten out.

Mary Judah has been after me for a few weeks to put her hair in dreads. We did it yesterday and she looks AWESOME!

Taken on the spur of the moment after re-dying - the wispy ends are still damp. The bead in my hair is a metal ear cuff with a simple knotwork pattern on it.

Still has a tendency to stick up at odd angles.

I've often thought that my hair as it is now is a good reflection of my inner self - wild, incoherent and slightly deranged.

The tightest section. I think because these were back-combed in more tightly than the ones on top, they'll have more chance of staying put. A couple have loosened up and fallen out, but I'm leaving them for now to see if they do anything.

Still love my locks after all these years! :0)

Extra shots below...

Shaggy from the other angles too. I like the feral nature of my hair at the moment.

Enjoying the late February sun.

The blue peyote stitch bead only gets put in from time to time. With the ends being mainly a mass of loops, it's easier to leave any decoration out.

Freshly dyed with Directions Lagoon Blue and Violet.

To loosen each dread I initially soaked my daughter's hair in conditioner, an entire bottle's worth. Then I rinsed all the conditioner out and unraveled each dreadlock with a fork. It took over 2 weeks to take them all out.
