Castle Square in Warsaw, one of the first views of reconstructed Old Town.
On the right is the Royal Castle. The near left is the fortified brick city wall, with little left. Zygmunt's Column (cut down by fire from a Nazi tank in WWII and reconstructed with a new tower and amazingly undamaged statue) is just behind me in this pic and will likely show up in a later pic.

LA photographer Joey Terrill was showing a group a few things about lighting on location at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Joey allowed me to move away a prop he was using and to adjust his solo light a little so I could get this intense shot of Deontay Wilder looking totally bad ass. His light & my camera & shot. (I mooched off the pocket wizard he had hooked up to the light with my own PW mounted on my camera).
Deontay was the only US boxer to medal at the Beijing Olympics; this photo was taken about 6 weeks before the Olympics.

My wife and I just returned from almost three weeks in the Eastern Sierra mountains of California. On our last full day we explored the Alabama Hills in Lone Pine, where they have filmed literally hundreds of western movies. I was carrying my infrared camera, and as we hiked between two huge boulders, literally bigger than barns, I noticed a shaft of light coming through a slit in the rocks on the left. I had Maria position herself so that she was in that sliver of light. You can see the pattern of light on the boulder wall above her. Lately, they've been filming science fiction type movies here, and I think that infrared works well in that context.

The sun casts its warmth and rays over cherry blossoms on trees at Brooklyn Botanic Garden located in New York City.
It's incredible how lush some of the trees are this early into spring. Last year at this time, it wasn't until the end of April that the trees looked this full of blossoms.

High up the ridge high above Cabin Falls, on this particular evening, the setting sun slipped below dark clouds that were rolling in, creating light on dark drama.
Primatial Cathedral of Bogotá, officially known as the Cathedral Basilica Metropolitan and Primate of the Immaculate Conception. It is located on Plaza de Bolívar in the heart of Bogotá, Colombia.
This cathedral is one of the largest in South America and serves as the seat of the Archbishop of Bogotá. It’s a significant landmark not only for its religious importance but also for its role in Colombian history.
A quiet moment of determination as a young climber picks a route through the rocks beneath the cliff face.

Summer's End: Woven Armor: Modern mythology meets high fashion. Gold sequin cascades catch the light against minimalist backdrops, framing a portrait defined by resilience and shimmer. The focus is on material contrast and sheer presence.

The PopSpot Ultra 50 3 Light Kit is a great tool for lighting creative portraits like this! We slid a red and blue colored gel into two of the PopSpots' built in gel holders and used the third light in the kit as a hair light. PopSpot LED Fresnel-style lights give you the power to add light exactly where you want it in a scene.

Description: An artichoke slightly past it's prime on a cloth draped over a wooden edge.
I love to find beauty in the "unlovely"... there is so much color that begins to happen when nature ages items... like the patina in rusty buckets and this colorful artichoke.
Gamlehaugen glows as a shaft of light helps it stand out from the dramatic background.
Gamlehaugen is a mansion in Bergen, Norway, and the residence of the Norwegian Royal Family in the city. Gamlehaugen has a history that goes as far back as the Middle Ages, and the list of previous owners includes many of the wealthiest men in Bergen.
