Cornwall Gardens was developed in 1866-79 on a block of land belonging to the Broadwood family, the famous piano makers. The garden is in three sections. The magnificent plane trees, planted in 1870, are now some of the tallest in London and, with several other species, contribute to the tranquil atmosphere of a woodland garden. An irrigation system has allowed the lawns and flowering shrubs to flourish and made further planting possible. Most of the railings were lost in WW2, but privet hedges now add to the cosy, secluded feel.

It has been a long time, but finally I have got round to doing my own black-and-white film processing. My first film - in probably 20 years - is Kodak P3200 T-max: developed for 11 min 30 s at 22-23 C in ID-11.
This gear has accumulated over the ages but includes everything I need to do 35mm and 120 film at home.
This are the first positives of my first fisheye film. I need to practice more! Half of the shots are underexposed :/
This country estate was developed during the 1890s and early 1900s by Moses and Bertha Cone, the son and daughter of German and Jewish immigrants. Moses and his brother Caesar established one of North Carolina’s largest textile empires during the late 19th and early 20th century.
Cone fashioned the estate, with its 23-room Colonial Revival mansion Flat Top Manor, as a healthful retreat from the rigors of his business empire. 25 miles of well-planned carriage roads, two man-made lakes, and apple orchards are part of the estate.
Today the manor and the entire estate are one of the most heavily used areas along the Parkway and home to the Parkway Craft Center. Carriage roads are popular for hiking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing, especially by residents of the Boone and Blowing Rock areas.
Together the Moses H. Cone Park and Julian Price Memorial Park comprise the largest developed area set aside for public recreation on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
It is on the Blue Ridge Parkway between mileposts 292 and 295 with access at milepost 294. Most locals call it Cone Park. The park is run by the National Park Service and is open to the public.

The Schlafly is a locally developed Pale Ale which has a unique method of capturing its prey. The beer lingers in the background awaiting its victims approach, and when the prey enters, the beer fills the victims mouth (to-hit roll needed), inflicting 1+4 points of well balanced flavors. The Schlafly Pale Ale does not seem to hit incredibly hard until the slightly bitter finish. It is very difficult to not like the Schlafly Pale Ale. It is totally unaffected by sleep, but drinking it causes customers to lose 1 point of damage ability per round, and after 4 rounds, the drinker will fall intoxicated (assuming that 16 ounce pints have been used).

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is a four-engined heavy bomber developed in the 1930s for the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC). Competing against Douglas and Martin for a contract to build 200 bombers, the Boeing entry (prototype Model 299/XB-17) outperformed both competitors and exceeded the air corps' performance specifications. Although Boeing lost the contract (to the Douglas B-18 Bolo) because the prototype crashed, the air corps ordered 13 more B-17s for further evaluation. From its introduction in 1938, the B-17 Flying Fortress evolved through numerous design advances, becoming the third-most produced bomber of all time, behind the four-engined Consolidated B-24 Liberator and the multirole, twin-engined Junkers Ju 88.
The B-17 was primarily employed by the USAAF in the daylight strategic bombing campaign of World War II against German industrial and military targets. The United States Eighth Air Force, based at many airfields in central, eastern and southern England, and the Fifteenth Air Force, based in Italy, complemented the RAF Bomber Command's night-time area bombing in the Combined Bomber Offensive to help secure air superiority over the cities, factories and battlefields of Western Europe in preparation for the invasion of France in 1944. The B-17 also participated to a lesser extent in the War in the Pacific, early in World War II, where it conducted raids against Japanese shipping and airfields.
From its prewar inception, the USAAC (by June 1941, the USAAF) promoted the aircraft as a strategic weapon; it was a relatively fast, high-flying, long-range bomber with heavy defensive armament at the expense of bombload. It developed a reputation for toughness based upon stories and photos of badly damaged B-17s safely returning to base. The B-17 dropped more bombs than any other U.S. aircraft in World War II. Of approximately 1.5 million tons of bombs dropped on Nazi Germany and its occupied territories by U.S. aircraft, over 640,000 tons were dropped from B-17s. In addition to its role as a bomber, the B-17 was also employed as a transport, antisubmarine aircraft, drone controller, and search-and-rescue aircraft.
As of October 2019, 9 aircraft remain airworthy, though none of them were ever flown in combat. Dozens more are in storage or on static display. The oldest of these is a D-series flown in combat in the Pacific and the Caribbean.

My first developed photo on my BW enlarger. I had to choose a less exciting photo to develop because it needed to be a black and white roll of film and I couldn't get the right exposure levels for outdoors shots. This photo is actually the fifth shot I'd ever taken on a film camera so that's cool. Camera: zeiss ikonta super chrome / Enlarger: LPL 3301D / paper: ilford multigrade IV deluxe

A box from Adorama Camera showed up today and it was full of all the stuff I should need to get started developing my own black and white film from my Rolleicord.
I developed a roll of film from my my pink early 90's camera a week and a half ago.
This was something I found on the board one day when I walked into my Sociology class.
