First time self developing. Not sure where I went wrong. Too much grain and streaks where the sprocket holes are. Possibly too little agitation? Flipped it four times every minute, but it is possible I missed one. Will missing one agitation do this? It's not light leaks as I took some pictures with this camera and it was processed by the lab perfectly.
I used lightroom to help push contrast because the negatives looked really grey and lacked contrast.

Where did I go wrong?
I haven't developed a roll of film since my summer of 2010. After a photo shoot in the morning, I went to the photo store to get my Dad's old Canon EOS 500 film camera fixed (switch batteries). I then shopped around, bought some more film and got a cheap offer of a kit to develop film. So I got it and tried it out, it was pretty fun. Other than the part at the end where I couldn't open the tank and had to use my sister's baseball bat to bust it open. The negatives looks okay, I'm going to go try to print them tomorrow after school.
Developed together with the knowbotiq collective, the listening session delves into gold and mercury amalgams — mercury is used to wash gold out of the earth — proposing a fictional space in which a collective subconscious of a mineral incorporated into all of our raw metabolisms might be sensed. This is then transformed into derivative stock market products, components of high-tech technologies, or libidinous wellness products. The installation explores the materiality of sounds which take form through glass bodies that work as resonators and allude to the molecular processes of gold refinement.

The system is based on 6 bike stations, respectively staffed by two employees in two shifts. Ecovolis program has proven successful in dramatically increasing bicycle use in Tirana, which, formerly, was a city without a developed bicycle culture. Ecovolis program is the first project in Albania that provides low-income adults with commuter bicycles as well as a donating program for children bicycles. The program recently completed two major steps, opening new bike stations in the city of Durrës and integrating Tourist Information Point Service to the bicycles stations' structure.
History
The Tirana Community Bicycle Albania project won financial support from the George Soros Open Society Foundation Albania (OSFA). An even larger contribution came from the US-based Pedal for Progress organization, which donated 450 bicycles. Sixty of these were used road bikes, which were modified and painted by local technicians to serve as public bikes in the Ecovolis scheme. Another portion was set aside to donate to children and to activists and volunteers at PASS. Still another portion were diverted to the project's Eco Bicycle Shop, a social enterprise which sells bikes for USD 50-150 and reinvests profits for the service and maintenance of Ecovolis bicycles. The main objective of the program was to introduce the community to an inexpensive, environmental friendly form of transport -- the bicycle; to sell used bikes at low prices; to donate bikes to the children of needy families and to PASS volunteers; to establish a bike sharing-scheme in the city (Ecovolis); and to employ financially disadvantaged people and young students to operate the bike-sharing scheme.
System
Each Ecovolis station is staffed by two employees in two shifts and contains 30 -- 60 bicycles. In order to use the bicycles it is required to provide a personal identification document (such as passport or ID card) or by subscribing to the Ecovolis membership Card.
The first black and red bicycles, (also the colors of the Albanian flag) were donated from US-organization Pedal for Progress, (which collect and donate used bicycles). As these bicycles were of different types, converting them for safe and comfortable public use took months of work. The price per bicycle varies from 60 US$ to 90 US$ each. The bicycle is equipped with a front bicycle basket, a behind carrier, a comfortable saddle and a public fender with the Ecovolis sign.
The bicycle stations also provide touristic information to the visitors and a list of the city attractions. Moreover, being a non-profit social enterprise, during particular days the program offers free bicycle service, cycling courses, donations of bicycles and helmets for children in need, bike tours and a bicycle recycle program.

Flamenco, in its strictest sense, is an art form based on the various folkloric music traditions of southern Spain, developed within the gitano subculture of the region of Andalusia, but also having a historical presence in Extremadura and Murcia. In a wider sense, it is a portmanteau term used to refer to a variety of both contemporary and traditional musical styles typical of southern Spain. Flamenco is closely associated to the gitanos of the Romani ethnicity who have contributed significantly to its origination and professionalization. However, its style is uniquely Andalusian and flamenco artists have historically included Spaniards of both gitano and non-gitano heritage.
The oldest record of flamenco music dates to 1774 in the book Las Cartas Marruecas by José Cadalso. The development of flamenco over the past two centuries is well documented: "the theatre movement of sainetes (one-act plays) and tonadillas, popular song books and song sheets, customs, studies of dances, and toques, perfection, newspapers, graphic documents in paintings and engravings. ... in continuous evolution together with rhythm, the poetic stanzas, and the ambiance.”
On 16 November 2010, UNESCO declared flamenco one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

How can developing countries ensure they take the path to prosperity, and not the road to ruin? Once a nation has more citizens of working age than dependents, it is poised at the edge of an unprecedented economic boom, known as the demographic dividend. But realizing this dividend demands multisectoral policies, investments, and programs that enable young people to flourish.
“Ensuring access to education, health services and employment for youth can mean the difference between capitalizing on a demographic dividend or taking a road towards disempowerment and disaffection,” says Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, UNFPA’s Executive Director.
Join us on December 8th to explore how countries can achieve the demographic dividend through empowerment, education, and employment. Panelists will present innovative rights-based approaches to working with women, youth, and marginalized groups in ways that ensure the demographic dividend benefits all.
Just as empowerment, education, and employment are key to unlocking the demographic dividend, environmental sustainability also plays a critical role in the future of today’s youth. Join us for a special reception celebrating the release of ECSP’s “Healthy People, Healthy Environment” documentary trilogy, filmed in Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Nepal. Filmmaker, Sean Peoples, UNFPA’s Benoit Kalasa, and the Wilson Center’s Roger-Mark De Souza will offer brief remarks.
This event is co-sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund.

I'm always looking to blend the beautiful aesthetic of traditional media while hybridizing the process of digital painting.
My latest investigations have been very productive. I have worked with fellow artists to obtain real world oil paint samples, then after importing and color correcting these samples I have developed a baseline for the actual colors to be used in my digital paintings.
The colors in the digital workflow are generally too saturated in comparison with real paint. Including knowledge of color theory and dynamics, my new Authentic Digital Colors will yield more painterly and acceptable results.

Roll #0009
My first self-developed color roll! Took a long walk to get through the roll (overcast, sunny, clear, stormy and snow are all the same afternoon!!) then hurried home to mix chem and develop.
I didn't have a water bath tub, and the CD41 lost more heat than I expected while I mixed up the blix (since I had the window open. because i was mixing up blix.) so I tried to add some more time to compensate.

Photographers must develop awareness of the quality of light. I love shooting landscapes and the quality of light is every bit as important as the subject when shooting scenics. Sometimes the light and its palette in the sky is all the subject needed. Tonight was one of those nights, and, while sitting at home just before dinner, I saw a red glow develop in the eastern sky. A quick glance to the west confirmed that the sun was painting the clouds, so off to the closest open field I drove, and capturd the beauty of a lovely humid November sunset.

How Honduras managed to carry out genomic sequencing for the first time
June 2023
When microbiologist Soany Ávilez was selected to implement the genomic sequencing of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Honduras, she was amazed. In the wake of the pandemic, Soany had started working at the National Virology Laboratory in 2020 performing PCR tests. At that time, genomic sequencing to detect circulating variants of the virus that causes COVID-19 was carried out outside the country. But a project to provide Honduras with the capabilities to do it in situ and obtain faster results was being developed with technical support from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and financial support from the United States Government.
Although she lacked knowledge on the subject, Soany remembers that she longed for the opportunity to work in sequencing. "When they chose us (her and her partner Karla Romero) to implement sequencing in the country and move the area forward, I couldn't believe it," she says.
Genomic surveillance allows us to know the evolution of viruses and other pathogens as they change over time. Knowing those changes or mutations that can modify its transmissibility and severity, allows us to guide public health measures. During the pandemic, it was a key strategy to monitor the behavior of SARS-CoV-2 and a technique that is being integrated into the surveillance of other pathogens.
Karla Romero, the other microbiologist in charge of genomic surveillance, acknowledges that the implementation of sequencing in Honduras has been "a great challenge" that required a lot of "sacrifice and commitment" both inside and outside the laboratory.
The sequencing area had to be created from scratch. In 2022, the authorities selected and conditioned a space within the National Virology Laboratory. With the support of PAHO, a sequencer, supplies, reagents, and furniture were purchased, and Soany and Karla were trained in bioinformatics and genomic sequencing at the Gorgas Memorial Institute in Panama.
“All with the aim of strengthening the capacities for genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 and other pathogens in Honduras,” says Gabriela Rodriguez Segura, coordinator of the PAHO Project for the Consolidation of Genomic Sequencing Capacities in Honduras. Before these capacities were created at the local level, samples to determine the variants circulating in the country were sent to the laboratories of the Regional Network for Genomic Surveillance of COVID-19 (COVIGEN) created by PAHO to support countries without capacity to carry out sequencing in its territory.
In March 2023, the effort paid off and excitement took over the National Virology Laboratory when, after several attempts, the first sequencing of SARS-COV-2 in the country was successfully carried out. “We couldn't believe it,” says Soany. "We feel very happy because it was a great challenge and the result made us feel fulfilled."
On March 21, 2023, the results were obtained and it was the first time that the XBB sublineage of the omicron variant was detected in the country and by Honduran health professionals. For Karla, the key was “not to give up in the face of the biggest challenge”.
"It is a milestone for the country that genomic sequencing is being carried out," says Dr. Mitzi Castro, head of the National Health Surveillance Laboratory of Honduras. “It is a historic moment because we are starting from here to carry out future genomic surveillance of other pathogens of sanitary interest to the country,” she adds.
According to Dr. Castro, the country now has state-of-the-art technology. "The laboratory is at the forefront, and that is a success and a source of pride, for which we thank all those who have contributed their bit so that Honduras is not left behind."
Aero L-39 Albatros is a high-performance jet trainer aircraft developed in Czechoslovakia to meet requirements for a C-39 (C for cvičný – trainer) during the 1960s to replace the L-29 Delfín. It was the first of the second-generation jet trainers, and the first turbofan-powered trainer produced. To date, more than 2,800 L-39s have served with over 30 air forces around the world. The Albatros is the most widely used jet trainer in the world; in addition to performing basic and advanced pilot training, it has also flown combat missions in a light-attack role. Atypically, it has never received a NATO reporting name. While newer versions are now replacing older L-39s in service, thousands remain in active service as trainers, and many are finding new homes with private warbird owners all over the world. This is particularly evident in the United States, where their $200,000–$300,000 price puts them in range of moderately wealthy pilots looking for a fast, agile personal jet. Their popularity led to a purely L-39 Jet class at the Reno Air Races, though it has since been expanded to include other, similar aircraft.
