From September 15th to 19th the second of the four JCOM Masterclasses, educational programmes aimed at an international audience and held by international experts takes place. I developed this film using QWD ECN-2 chemistry. It's a long story about a gift of 4 Silbersalz rolls that should have included developing and scanning back in Stuttgart. Instead, the film took a round trip from New York to Frankfurt, getting stuck in German customs for months with indifferent support from Silbersalz. So upon their return to me, I developed and scanned them myself. QWD makes a great product for home development of Vision3.

The Block Arcade was developed by financier Benjamin Fink. The Collins Street section of the building was completed in February 1892 and is similar in style to the Milano Galleria Vittorio Arcade in Italy. The new shopping arcade was designed by David. C. Askew of the architectural firm Twentyman and Askew. The cost of erection was £46,233. The bluestone footings for the building came from the original structure on the site, the Briscoe & Company Bulk Store. The site of 96-102 Elizabeth Street was purchased by the City Property Company Ltd in January 1892. Architect David Askew was called upon to continue his style for the arcade and this area was completed in October the following year. The Block Arcade comprises of arcade shops with mezzanine levels above for social rooms and offices, shops to Collins Street, Block Place and Elizabeth Street and four levels of office space above. The arcade forms an L-shape with a polygonal planned space with a glazed roof at the corner of the L. The kink in the plan was due to the shape of the original block subdivision and the location of Block Place, the lane behind. Linking the two spaces is an elaborately patterned mosaic floor of tiles, which were imported from Europe. When the arcade was constructed the Building and Engineering Journal noted that the flooring contained the largest area of mosaics yet laid down in Australia.

Unlike a tourist resort , a recreation complex is often owned by a single organization. In addition, a tourist resort can contain several complexes and recreational places. Due to the development of the surrounding tourist offer and in particular the accommodation on the estate, the park can then become an independent destination.

Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood developed this new K-8 prototype for Williamson County Schools the first of which is the combined Mill Creek Elementary and Middle Schools. As the first of the K-8 prototypes to be built Mill Creek is situated on a large campus that includes the Nolensville High School thus creating the academic hub of the Nolensville community. The building marries an elementary school and a middle school with a connecting spine between the two, and one wing of auxiliary spaces including separate cafeterias served by a common kitchen, two gymnasiums one of which has a stage for assembly, an auditorium with performance stage, and separate media centers with a centralized shared circulation desk. The auxiliary wing can be accessed after hours separately from the main academic building keeping the classrooms secure. The connecting spine at the center of the facility also houses a media center, art labs, speech, computer labs, resource rooms, band, music, science and flexible classroom spaces used for teacher training, testing, or collaborative learning. The separate classroom wings for elementary and middle school wings contain 68 student classrooms and 4 special needs student classrooms. Two grand staircases connect the 2-story academic wings and the atrium space outside that serves as pre-function space for the auditorium and cafeteria.
GMC provided the planning, programming, architecture and interior design for this project.

The cooling towers are a controversial landmark in Sheffield, by the M1 motorway. I went and took lots of pics of them 2 days before they were due to be demolished, thinking it would be the last chance for photos. As I was snapping, a security guard on the site came and informed me that they weren't now going to be demolished until next year. Still, it was a lovely day for taking photos!

It has been a long time, but finally I have got round to doing my own black-and-white film processing. My first film - in probably 20 years - is Kodak P3200 T-max: developed for 11 min 30 s at 22-23 C in ID-11.
This gear has accumulated over the ages but includes everything I need to do 35mm and 120 film at home.
