Common name:Vine, Zig-Zag; Acid Drop Vine; Merangara; Zig-zag Vine; Wild Banana; Banana, Wild
Usually grows as a tree-top vine. Flower smells like an overripe bananas Petals thick and fleshy, three outer petals triangular. Inner petals which are fused at the apex.
CYP, NEQ and southwards as far as north-eastern New South Wales. Grows in well developed rain forest, gallery forest, monsoon forest and vine thickets.

A developing Supercell across far Northeast Wisconsin on July 1 2017. Only isolated storms were expected, but this beast began to develop along an old outflow boundary from a storm early in the afternoon. Aiding in the development was a lake breeze boundary. The updraft was so explosive.

I developed my second concept: The superhero has conquered Cereal Mountain with nothing but a spoon! What a feat! :)
In terms of composition and readability, I think I was successful. But I had very different plans for the coloring. I'm really, really held back by the fact that I have little experience with Photoshop and Illustrator. I had intended to digitally paint this piece to add shadows and depth, but I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the background, let alone use any brushes (yes, even after a couple tutorials and endless attempts). So I was limited to live painting. It took away a lot of the detail I had in my penned drawing, but the blocky coloring adds to the comic-like aesthetic of the final design.

Congratulations to Thomas Jefferson Arts Academy’s Liberty Players on an outstanding run of Bring It On! (The Musical). This weekend, Jefferson Arts staged an incredible Spring musical featuring its talented actors, dancers and singers. The story may have been set in the fast-paced world of competitive cheerleading, but ultimately explored themes of character, friendship and the true meaning of “winning.” The students and staff who developed the production can be very proud of a job very well done!
