Exhibited at CECAL - Loulé, Portugal 2016.
All of the pictures were photographed in a light box (box made of cardboard and tracing paper, illuminated by LEDS). Except the series "Trying to belong" (Bert and Ernie), which was photographed outdoors. The developing was fully processed in the darkroom of “Casa da Cultura de Loulé”, and was exposed the original prints in silver chloride paper. (the presented examples are its scans)
The dolls photographed are a selection of some children toys of the authors and her nephew, plus some decoration dolls from their houses.
The narratives presented in each series or individual photo, are illustrations of personal situations and opinions, or simply the result of a time playing with dolls.

Since the 1990s, a more active and open civil society sector has developed across the Russian Federation. While civil society institutions and civic engagement in Russia are not new, the growth of the sector in recent years created hopes that Russian civil society could become the voice for a more effective democratic system, more efficient social services, and a check against corruption and centralized power. At the same time, the increasing interconnectivity between Russian and international civil society institutions created a sense of optimism that an interconnected “Euro-Atlantic civil society” could make positive contributions to difficult geo-political challenges.
Of late, however, these hopes have largely been put on hold. Russian civil society institutions are facing a variety of political and social pressures, and are becoming less connected to international partners. Geo-political relations between Russia and the Euro-Atlantic community have worsened, and international civil society groups and donors have become the object of suspicion as instruments of external interference. At a political level, prior optimism about a “re-set” in Russia-Euro-Atlantic relations has faltered, however, with implications for support for civil society institutions.
There is an urgent need to rebuild bridges and to reestablish a serious dialogue about the role of Russian civil society and relations between diverse civic actors domestically, as well as between Russian organizations and international partners. In cooperation with, and with the generous support of, the Yeltsin Presidential Center and Yeltsin Foundation, this Symposium will address the challenges and opportunities currently facing civil society in Russia as a means to understand the needs and perspective of Russian civil society groups and to consider new approaches to international civil society engagement with Russia.

One of my favorite spots to visit on the Glimmerglass campus is the
Paints barn. True, the name does not make it sound very exciting but for
those of you who did not know, it is the place where all of the scenic
art for each production is created during the summer. There are always
various projects going on, and the progression of things being painted or
sculpted on a daily basis is quite amazing... and very interesting to
document. During one of my frequent visits I was able to take this
picture of a work-in-progress piece, to be seen on stage this summer in
"Tosca."

A developing Supercell across far Northeast Wisconsin on July 1 2017. Only isolated storms were expected, but this beast began to develop along an old outflow boundary from a storm early in the afternoon. Aiding in the development was a lake breeze boundary. The updraft was so explosive.

Distorted knitwear sample using both standard and chunky domestic knitting machines - knitted in different directions using more colourful and contemporary yarns.
This short essay traveled across small vineyards of Serra Gaucha, with especially attention for scenes of the city of Nova Petrópolis and Canela during the winter period of the year 2015. The images here show the everyday rural life: architecture, animals, land, art, the worker and the work of the field. Such photos deserve to be supplemented by others that may show the numerous other activities in the region. All that in black and white analog photographs.
Este ensaio percorreu um pouco dos vinhedos da Serra Gaúcha, em especial cenas da cidade de Nova Petrópolis e Canela durante o período do inverno do ano de 2015. As imagens aqui mostram a vida rural cotidiana: as construções, os animais, a terra, a arte, o homem e o trabalho do campo. Tais fotos merecem serem completadas com outras que possam mostrar as inumeras outras atividades da região. Fotografias analógias em preto-e-branco.
