Nous sommes devant les studios de William Notman (site actuel du Palais des Congrès), deux chevaux sont attelés à une charrette contenant une bonne charge de sacs de farine identifiés "Ogilvie" ainsi que la charrette. Monsieur William Watson Ogilvie est probablement le personnage "hirsute" qu'on voit à droite, supposons qu'il revient d'une séance photo.

William Notman n'était pas n'importe qui, c'était LE photographe OFFICIEL de la REINE! comme le mentionne l'enseigne installée sur le fronton du balcon d'entrée du studio.

Tout ce secteur, qui côtoyait celui de l'ancien faubourg Saint-Laurent, a été rasé pour le passage de l'autoroute Ville-Marie, d'une ligne de métro ainsi que pour de multiples autres aménagements urbains dont le Palais des Congrès.
