Le Sphinx de Gizeh est la statue thérianthrope qui se dresse devant les grandes pyramides du plateau de Gizeh, en Basse-Égypte.
Sculpture monumentale monolithique la plus grande du monde avec 73,5 mètres de longueur, 14 mètres de largeur et 20,22 mètres de hauteur, elle représente un sphinx couchant. Réalisée vers 2500 av. J.-C., elle est attribuée à Khéphren, l'un des pharaons de la IVe dynastie de l'Ancien Empire, ou à son père, Khéops.
Le Sphinx de Gizeh, d'une masse d'environ 20 000 tonnes, est une sculpture monumentale taillée dans un promontoire naturel de quarante mètres de hauteur dans de la roche calcaire de la formation de Mokattam (calcaire nummulitique déposé au Cénozoïque puis buriné par le Nil de meilleure qualité que les formations qui l'encadrent).
Sa tête est taillée dans un piton de calcaire dur et gris sur lequel sont construites les trois pyramides, un piton qui était vraisemblablement déjà vénéré aux temps pré-pharaoniques.
Il se trouve en avant de la grande carrière qui a fourni nombre de blocs à la pyramide. Sa tête est tournée vers le levant.

Ieri sera si è conclusa la mostra fotografica THE SORTINI'S e devo dire che oggi sono un po triste visto che nel pomeriggio non dovrò andare ad aprire la sala (anche se da un lato è meglio visto l'alto grado di umidità della stessa!!!).
Ma va bene così, visto che adesso tocca mettersi sotto per il prossimo progetto.
Della mostra conserverò un ricordo fantastico grazie a tutte le persone che ci sono passate a trovare, per gli attestati di stima che abbiamo ricevuto e per la visita inaspettata del Maestro Franco Fontana.
Ricorderò le risate durante la preparazione del materiale, le nottate a tagliare i cartoncini e le foto, a limare i compensati, le corse a Napoli con la macchina per comperare 50 cornici e trovarne 49 e ritornarci perchè 25 erano rotte; infine vorrei ringraziare Franco Sortini, per averci portato fin quà, ed i ragazzi (Massimo Napoli, Luciano Gallo, Nicola Feo e Chiara Zappullo) che mi hanno accompagnato e che mi accompagneranno nell'avventura fotografica dei Sortini's per tutti i progetti a venire!

Dev Deepawali (Varanasi)
The Dev Deepavali ("the Diwali of the Gods" or "Festival of Lights of the Gods") is the festival of Kartik Poornima celebrated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. It falls on the full moon of the Hindu month of Kartika (November - December) and takes place fifteen days after Diwali. The steps of all the ghats on the riverfront of the Ganges River, from Ravidas Ghat at the southern end to Rajghat, are lit with more than a million earthen lamps (diyas) in honour of Ganga, the Ganges, and its presiding goddess. The gods are believed to descend to Earth to bathe in the Ganges on this day. The festival is also observed as Tripura Purnima Snan. The tradition of lighting the lamps on the Dev Deepawali festival day was first started at the Panchganga Ghat in 1985.

Der Deutsche Eisenbahnverein in Bruchhausen Vilsen feiert in den kommenden Tagen sein 50. Geburtstag. Aus diesem Anlass kommen auch mehrere Gastlokomotiven zum Einsatz. Die Lok BIEBERLIES der Märkischen Museumseisenbahn in Hüinghausen war schon vorort und wurde am letzten Wochenende vor den Planzügen eingesetzt. Hier verlässt sie mit dem ersten Zug des 24. Juli 2016 den Bahnhof Bruchhausen Vilsen

Memleketimmm benim dersiniz. İşte o sembol benim için Deve Yokuşudur. Bir yaz günü öğleden sonra güneşini karşıdan görüp yol alırken asfaltı pırıl pırıl parlatan ışık size siluetler halinde akan trafiği gösterir. Gidiş yönünüzdeki birkaç araca bakar şanslılar dersiniz benim gibi. Biga'ya gidiyorlar. Gelen trafiğe bakar dersiniz kimbilir nereye yetişmeye çalışıyorlar. uğurlar ola.
