anyways, everybody should check out this project that she's doing because it's pretty cool...

"The enclosed photographs are of the contributions we have received from individuals taking part in a visual project we are coordinating called “The Covid Collection”. We started conversations around how folk were experiencing Lockdown and life under Covid restrictions on the doorsteps of our contacts aged 70+ and via a weekly Newsletter called Uplift, on zoom, by telephone and email. The idea for the project was to involve as many people as possible in sharing their experiences, thoughts and feelings in a way they felt comfortable with. We suggested they may like to share positive and negative things. They could be as personal as they wished but they could just make a record of the events they witnessed. They show hobbies and what they were doing with their time. They could be things they will be glad to leave behind or things they are looking forward to being able to do in the future. Thy could record losses or blessings. The 50+ age group started the project off but you will see that it now includes all ages.

The project is ongoing and the contributions are arriving weekly. The “Covid Collection”will be presented at our community centre when permissible and safe at an open event to launch new activities. Other items created during this season will also be on display. The “Collection” will be displayed in a way to increase the visual impact for those viewing, a group of older people will be at the heart of the planning and organisation of this event."

As a contribution to the legacy of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the presidency of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and Europeana wanted to highlight the relevance of digital cultural heritage to the aims of the European Union during the next multiannual framework. During this two day event in Varna on May 28-29, 62 participants from 21 countries explored this together with experts and representatives of ministries of culture across Europe and draft a vision that expresses this contribution in concrete terms. ...to education at the Croc Bank - a poster she made for some presentation or exhibit somehwere, while she was working there as a volunteer before we turned up. December 2001. By the way, Rom Whitaker, the Yankee herpetologist who founded the Croc Bank (and later became a Rolex Award winner), was the subject of a TV program I made for the Mutsugoro series. Rom attended Kodaikanal International School, and it was through getting to know him that I sent our kids to KIS. So the guy has a lot to answer for :-)

I was sad to find that the first place I chose to hike in the desert didn't have a sign-in book, so I went and got one and left it for everyone.
