This Picture is part of my contribution for Relay For Life of Second Life Attention Magazine's June 22 Issue. The entire Magazine is coming up in purple, it is an issue dedicated to cancer awareness.
I am sharing these pictures with you all because I think it is so important to spread awareness around cancer. It can affect anyone, and most of us will in some way in our lives be affected or touched by it, either we ourselves could become a victim of it, someone we know, or someone dear and close to us. But also because there is hope in the darkest of times.

"Bright Lights"
HAEVN
Your words are high and running through a tired mind
A howling wind surrounds you
I'm trying to illuminate a clouded heart
I'm gonna find the strength to stay
Feel we're gonna break out
At the last step now
Feel we're gonna break out
I really wanna see your face, and I see
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me home
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me home
Your hands are high and floating through a darkened sky
So many eyes around you
The distant sounds as neon sparks light up my heart
I'm gonna find a brighter day
Feel we're gonna break out
I really wanna see your face, and I see
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me home
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me home
You shut your heart and shut my door
You shut your heart
When I say hold me, when I say hold me, when I see
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me home
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me
Bright, bright lights, bright lights to guide me home
Bright lights to guide me
Bright lights to guide me
Bright lights to guide me
Bright lights to guide me home

Relay For Life of Second Life Attention Magazine's June 22 Issue
I know may of you have in some way or the other felt Cancer close up, either had Cancer your self or know of somebody who is or has been fighting the battle of cancer. Even though some dont make it trough the battle, we must always remain hopeful that there is hope. That is why we have to keep up the work in finding ways to fight this disease, by awareness and research that can help fight the disease.
I am crying as I write this, because I am thinking of those I have lost in my RL as well as in SL. But I know that those I have lost would want me to stay positive and hopeful, and to love and live my life to the fullest each day, because we never know what tomorrow brings. I also want to dedicate this picture in memory of our dearest Beautiful Angel Amber who lost the fight against Cancer, she was the most positive, loving, caring and most uplifting person I have ever met in the virtual world of Second life, She will always be missed and never be forgotten, she will always be in our hearts, as well as to my dear Uncle who also passed away too soon, due to Cancer.
"Better Days"
There's a light at the end of the tunnel
Keep your eyes on the road ahead
But if you're feeling lost in the night
It's okay to cry
Just as long as you hold your head
'Cause we're on our way to better
Better's ahead, better's ahead
It get's worse 'fore it gets better
But better's ahead, better's ahead
Better days are comin' (Better and better and better, ooh-ooh)
Better days are comin' (Ooh-ooh, better days)
Better days, better days (Better and better and better, oh-ooh)
Better days are comin' (Better days, better days)
I know you've been kicked down
Slept on, let down, faith gone
Waited for too long for something to lean on (Lean on)
You feel weak, just be strong (Ooh)
Deep breath, stay calm
If you just press on, press on, press on
You gon' see there's a light at the end of the tunnel (At the end of the tunnel)
Keep your eyes on the road ahead (On the road ahead)
And if you're feelin' lost in the night (Lost in the night)
It's okay to cry (It's okay to cry)
Just as long as you hold your head
'Cause we're on our way to better (Aah)
Better's ahead, (Better) better's ahead (Aah)
It get's worse 'fore it gets better (Ah-ah-ah)
But better's ahead, better's ahead
Better days are comin' (Better and better and better, ooh-ooh, I know, I know)
Better days are comin' (Ooh-ooh)
(Better days, better days) (Better and better and better, ooh-ooh)
Better days are comin' (Ooh-ooh)
(Better days, better days)
I know you feel left out and stepped on
Keep goin', keep goin'
Shine bright, don't dim yours for no one
Keep goin' higher, and higher and higher and higher
(Because there's better)
Better days, better days are comin' (Better days)
Better days, better days (On their way) are comin' ('Cause I know)
Better days, better days (Better days) are comin' (Yeah)
Better days, (Oh) better days are comin' (I know)
Better days are comin'

When you think of the Netherlands, it is easy to picture never-ending fields of brightly coloured flowers. Many of the country’s most famous artists have portrayed the flower fields of the Netherlands in their work, and these fields are just as spectacular when they are seen in real life. However, these flower fields are more than just aesthetically beautiful: they are also economically important to the country. A significant proportion of the country’s agricultural exports are derived from the sale of freshly cut flowers, bulbs and mature plants, and the Netherlands contributions to the flower industry are so significant that they make up around two-thirds of the world’s total flora sales and completely dominate the European marketplace. Thanks to highly efficient supply chains, it is actually possible to buy flowers in New York which were freshly cut in the Netherlands that morning!

My contribution to Photo Sunday with the theme heart matter. When I inhale the fragrance of the flowers, my heart and mind lift to greater heights.
You are always a friend of flowers, you don't land on stones,
Your contribution is not to strife, but to peace,
You add words as sweet as honey to our language.

This is a variety of Saccharum spontaneum which is a grass native to the Indian Subcontinent.
It is a perennial grass, growing up to three meters in height, with spreading rhizomatous roots.
macro mondays contribution.
One of quite a few taken for this week's theme so still trying to decide, it will be one of those occasions I decide on the bus in to work!
Done!!
I keep reliving MM challenges, this week sweet spot and inspired by a song!
Contribution to MM challenge for 4/3/18, theme "Jewelry".
Slightly tricky challenge due to the number of times I've used jewellery in the past, not least as my Flickr avatar, but not helped by the fact my partner and I are living 200 miles apart at the moment so I can't raid her jewellery!! And I've already used my mother's wedding ring
This is all mine though and is one of those things that is never taken off. The star I bought on a school trip to France in the early 80s and the necklace it's attached to my sister bought me for my 18th. It's a while now to be wearing the same 2 chunks of metal around my neck!!

Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States. It is the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend.
Have a nice Holiday.
This is my contribution to Macro Monday Group. The theme is: “Redux 2019”. I chose to redo the “chain” theme. This time I took another chain and also, I used my new extension tubes (which I absolutely love by the way!! Best Christmas gift ever !!!). And voilà! I hope you like it as much as I do!
Happy MM !! HMM !!
And thank you so much for your comments /favs and support! I’m humbled and grateful!!! I wish you all an amazing day and see you on Flickr!!
Our contribution to this weeks Macro Mondays: Member's Choice - Musical Instruments. Enjoy it and HMM to everybody.
possible/probable contribution to MM challenge for 10/8/20, theme: "Water"
Didn't have as much time as I would have liked for this one so not my original idea but still one of the highest deletion rates I've had for a MM challenge for a few years!
Didn't set out to do a monochrome shot but as the final image was so close anyway I just gave it a gentle nudge over the line.
Focusing was a huge PITA for this as the focal point kept moving and I was using a wider aperture than normal and a much higher ISO to get a half decent shutter speed. Sure I'm not the only person that faced these issues!
contribution to MM challenge for 13/7/20, theme: Spiral
Quite possibly not technically spirals - but they might be!
his contribution....his favorite purple vase and our feather duster he plopped in it.

contribution for MM challenge for 29/7/19, theme: "Made of Wood"
Such a broad theme - the sort I find difficult but this was going to be the olive board which I've used for quite a few other snaps before. But to get the full benefit of the grain patterns would take more than 3 inches. So trying to keep it simple I went with the most familiar and common thing made of wood and set them against the aforementioned olive wood board. Double wammy!!
Contribution to Macro Mondays challenge for 23/4/18 - theme "Plastic"
Something I had wanted to try for some time is the process of cross polarisation. So a while ago I 'acquired' a couple of clear plastic forks from the work canteen but left them sitting. Then the MM challenge this week created the perfect opportunity and this is one of the results.
For anyone not familiar with the process you basically need a light source (computer monitor is ideal), some plastic and a polarising filter.
99% of this image was created in camera. I will admit to pushing the vibrance, luminance and saturation up a little. The background was actually pure white turned black by the polariser.

Su cúpula, con un diámetro exterior de 26,15 metros, tiene una altura de 91,23 metros, superior a la de sus cuatro torres.

contribution to MM challenge for 3/2/20 - theme: "The Odd One"
The subject matter doesn't (or shouldn't!) need any explanation other than these are some of my partner's hobby tools.
The title is a direct take from the 70s sitcom featuring one of the best characters of all time - Arnold. That said I have no idea if it has stood the test of time, but he certainly was an odd one!
The George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens are botanical gardens located 2 km North of the CBD of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.
The gardens were established on their present site in 1886; this was the third attempt by European settlers of Darwin to establish a site where plants of economic importance could be tested for their suitability in the tropics. Initially the collection of the gardens was focussed on economic gardening and the ornamental plantings. The gardens were severely damaged during Cyclone Tracy in 1974, 89% of all plants were lost. Restoration after the cyclone was led by George Brown, who had worked at the gardens since 1969 and served as curator from 1971 to 1990, and became Lord Mayor of Darwin in 1992 until 2002. The gardens were renamed in 2002 to recognise George Brown's contribution and 32 years service to the development of the gardens.
In 2000 Darwin's historic former Wesleyan Methodist church was moved from Knuckey Street and reconstructed at the Gardens. It is the oldest surviving building in Darwin. Today, the old church building houses Eva's Botanical Gardens Cafe.
The gardens contain a major collection of Northern Australian monsoon flora; these include communities like mangroves, monsoon vine thicket, Tiwi Islands wet forest and those found on the Arnhem Land escarpment. The gardens also has a large collection of native and introduced tropical plants including cycads, palms, Adansonia, gingers and heliconias.
Contribution to MM challenge for 11/2/18, theme Holes
My first though when I read the challenge was of picture I took some time ago, I think for a different challenge. I laughed when I saw said picture included in the gallery of examples!
I went through a hole host of ideas for this challenge but was pushed for time so settled for the kitchen table with food. A hole lot easier than what I had planned for the bath
contribution to Macro Mondays group for 23 Jan 2017 - "It's A-Peeling To Me"
Partially inspired by the cover art for the debut album by Velvet Underground & Nico.
Contribution to MM challenge for 24/8/20, theme "Glass"
Well it's not an original idea but once I'd taken it I kind of fell in love with the imperfections in the glass even though my original plan was to eliminate them! They were lost for some time and I'm still not sure I've recovered them...
Just in case you're wondering it's shot in a puddle of water on a tin foil "bowl" in direct sunlight!

Contributions to Islamic art found in the Sheikh Zayed Mosque include the art of using colors to create original artistic forms. The colors of the walls, columns and the carpet are harmonized together transforming the entire Mosque into an artistic masterpiece and a symphony of colors and shades.
OK, here's my contribution to the recent stream of fuzzy fledgling Owl postings.
I first encountered nesting Great Horned Owls in this open space eight or ten years ago and it's been a constant producer of adult and fledglings. A few weeks ago I finally found the elusive nest. I tried to get images of the chicks in the nest, but only got a few low quality images in fading light. I returned the other day and found the nest empty. After searching for half an hour I heard a fledgling call out and was able to locate this one...again the light was failing but I was able to get a few shots before dark.
