For my contribution to the archive, I have several aspects that I want to pursue. The first is the carts used by street cleaners - the way in which they are personalised (or not, as in this case), how many compartments they have, the equipment on board etc. I think it will be interesting to see how they change over time. I suspect this separation of rubbish (into recyclable and not?) is a relatively recent initiative. It might also be interesting to compare them in different areas and different countries.

I. Introduction

Ethiopia was the only country in Africa to demarcate its boundary through bargaining with European colonizers in the early 20th century. This victory had a chance for Ethiopia to produce its political and economy policy by itself. In addition to this, there were golden chances in the country in different historical times: such as the period of before and after Italy invasion, 1960 coup, 1974 revolution, 1991 and 2018 political changes. But the country and its people are still in serious economic problems. Different regimes came and went. They promised and tried to do at least better than the previous regime. But the issues of economic development became an issue of consecutive generation not only today but also tomorrow. My question is now why the regimes failed to make economic development in the country. Why did the regimes fail to use that all chances? I doubt that political issues may be the reason. Politics may badly affect development in all regimes. So that, I need to assess `how much political issues influenced economic development agendas of Ethiopia. `

Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa. It is a landlocked country and shares borders with Eritrea, Somalia, Kenya, South Sudan and Sudan. With more than 112 million people (2019), Ethiopia is the second fastest growing country in Africa after Nigeria. But it is also very poor, earning $ 850 per capita. Ethiopia plans to reach low-middle income level by 2025.

My first contribution is avgolimona, or egg lemon soup. It's very easy to make:

Heat three cups of chicken broth to a boil, add orzo pasta, boil for four minutes. Reduce heat to a near simmer.

In a separate bowl whisk two eggs and 1/4 cup of lemon juice together (strain the juice). The eggs need to be tempered before mixing them with the broth and orzo mixture. Slowly pour 1/2 cup of the heated broth into the egg/lemon mixture whisking the whole time.

Slowly pour the egg/lemon/broth mixture into the broth, again whisking as you do that.

You may want to heat the soup but don't let it boil or the eggs will curdle.

I always give it a taste and usually add a bit more lemon juice.

The other part of this meal is Grecian Chicken. I don't include it as part of the Mediterranean potluck because it's really an invention of Greco-American restaurant owners. It is good, however.

Split a chicken (or buy a half chicken, or whatever parts you like).

Melt a tablespoon of butter in an oven safe pan. Add a tablespoon of olive oil and the juice of a lemon (strain the juice). Put the chicken in the pan and spoon the sauce over the bird. Sprinkle with dried oregano, salt and pepper and place in a preheated 370 degree oven. Every 15 minutes baste with the sauce. Cook for of 35 minutes and test for doneness (consult your local cookbook for temperature and method of determining that). At the end of the roasting time put the bird under the broiler for a few minutes to brown and crisp the skin.

Spoon a bit of the sauce over the bird when serving and make sure you have bread to soak up the juices in the pan for an after dinner snack.

As a contribution to the legacy of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the presidency of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and Europeana wanted to highlight the relevance of digital cultural heritage to the aims of the European Union during the next multiannual framework. During this two day event in Varna on May 28-29, 62 participants from 21 countries explored this together with experts and representatives of ministries of culture across Europe and draft a vision that expresses this contribution in concrete terms. Contribution for Mia's upcoming zine.

My contributions to the super moon photos. I struggled to get anything earlier. If I got detail in the moon the foreground was way too dark and if I got foreground the moon was too bright. I had given up and then about 9 o'clock I looked out and saw the clouds around the moon. I think these images take a real celestial look. The faint cloud cover over the moon also helped tone down the brightness of the moon.

The importance of electrically powered vehicles is growing: climate protection, dwindling fossil fuels and an increased demand for mobility due to rising population figures require new solutions and alternative drive systems.

Electric vehicles can make a significant contribution to protecting the environment and reducing emissions. That is why electric vehicles are an integral part of the technology-open drive strategies of German manufacturers and suppliers. The leap in battery technology has made electromobility an option for future mobility.

Developers have focused on exploiting the existing advantages of electric motors over internal combustion engines. This is, for example, the high efficiency of an electric motor.

The lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles are being continuously improved. Car manufacturers are developing more powerful lithium-ion batteries that have a longer range and can be recharged more quickly. Along with these improvements, improving safety is becoming more urgent in the development of electric vehicles.

Lithium-ion batteries generate a significant amount of heat during operation and charging. In addition to using thermal management materials to dissipate the heat, placing protective, flame-retardant insulating materials between the battery cell, module and battery components can provide further thermal and electrical insulation protection.

Materials must be used in the following areas:

Insulation gaskets on positive connectors

Cell insulation

Insulation of serial connectors

BMU insulation

Edge protection

Battery sheathing

Battery insulation

Case insulation

The following 6 materials are used for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators:

Polypropylene film

Polyester film

Flame retardant 3M FRB

Nomex aramid paper

Polyimide film

Mica

1. polypropylene film for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Polypropylene has excellent dielectric properties, excellent impermeability and is easily formable. Formex is the first choice for engineers and designers. It is very durable and has excellent dielectric strength. It is also flame retardant (UL94 V-0) and meets stringent safety and environmental requirements. Formex can be die-cut, scored and folded to create a customized dynamic 3D shape.

2. polyester films for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Polyester films (also known by the trade names Mylar and Hostaphan) are also used in many applications where electrical insulation, thermal resistance and dimensional stability are required. PET films are useful as a dielectric insulator over a relative temperature range. Another product may be more suitable for higher temperatures depending on the application within the battery.

3. Flame Barrier FRB inorganic insulation papers for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

3M Flame Barrier FRB inorganic insulation papers are based on inorganic material technology, specifically designed for use as flame barriers in electrical equipment. 3M FRB insulation papers provide excellent resistance to flammability and ignitability, excellent arc, creepage path and dielectric breakdown resistance, and good thermal conductivity to protect electrical hazards.

4. Nomex aramid papers for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Nomex aramid papers have long been used in electrical applications. Nomex, which is based on meta-aramid fibers. This material is indispensable for manufacturers of motors, transformers or generators. In addition to its dielectric performance, it is characterized by very high thermal resistance (220°C according to UL 746) and mechanical strength. Properties that are also important in the manufacture of accumulators and batteries.

5. polyimide films for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Polyimide films are widely used in applications exposed to extreme heat and vibration. Polyimide films are flame retardant (UL94 V-0) and maintain their electrical, chemical and mechanical properties even under extremely harsh conditions.

6. mica for electrical and thermal insulation of batteries and accumulators

Mica is a mineral material found in the composition of some insulating films. Because it is very crumbly, mica “flakes” can be added to a binder. This mixture is then applied to a substrate to produce what we call flexible mica. It can also be added directly during the manufacture of a film, as is the case with Nomex Type 818. Mica increases dielectric performance and provides thermal barrier properties. This makes it particularly suitable for insulation between cells.

All materials can be supplied as die-cut and with a self-adhesive layer.

This poor photo is a contribution of three things. Being held up indoors, a mind that was totally uninspired and a desperate wish to click something. I grabbed my D60 and Vivitar 3200A speedlight to click something that lied around. The light was bounced off the wall. No filters used. I used a paper as a shield to cover up the background from being too much lit up.
