...to education at the Croc Bank - a poster she made for some presentation or exhibit somehwere, while she was working there as a volunteer before we turned up. December 2001. By the way, Rom Whitaker, the Yankee herpetologist who founded the Croc Bank (and later became a Rolex Award winner), was the subject of a TV program I made for the Mutsugoro series. Rom attended Kodaikanal International School, and it was through getting to know him that I sent our kids to KIS. So the guy has a lot to answer for :-)
I was sad to find that the first place I chose to hike in the desert didn't have a sign-in book, so I went and got one and left it for everyone.

I went up to Rhodes Memorial today to test out how many images my Canon 40D can produce on a full charge of battery and a 4GB memory card inside.
This was done as a dry run for timelapse ideas I have, and have been getting from Eric Nathan on Facebook.
Eric is a professional freelance photographer and I got to know of him through Flatspin Web Solutions, where I worked from 2003 until end of 2005.
Those who have the bandwidth and would be interested the timelapse [ reduced to 640x480 and compressed with Xvid Mpeg-4 codec], all 18MB download of it, is available here :
http://www.quest4dev.com/timelapse/rhodesmem.avi
While waiting for that to happen [ 2977 images, one every 3 seconds over 2 hours of shooting], I walked around with the 400D and took rather a few shots.. this was one of the more stellar ones.

I. Introduction
Ethiopia was the only country in Africa to demarcate its boundary through bargaining with European colonizers in the early 20th century. This victory had a chance for Ethiopia to produce its political and economy policy by itself. In addition to this, there were golden chances in the country in different historical times: such as the period of before and after Italy invasion, 1960 coup, 1974 revolution, 1991 and 2018 political changes. But the country and its people are still in serious economic problems. Different regimes came and went. They promised and tried to do at least better than the previous regime. But the issues of economic development became an issue of consecutive generation not only today but also tomorrow. My question is now why the regimes failed to make economic development in the country. Why did the regimes fail to use that all chances? I doubt that political issues may be the reason. Politics may badly affect development in all regimes. So that, I need to assess `how much political issues influenced economic development agendas of Ethiopia. `
Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa. It is a landlocked country and shares borders with Eritrea, Somalia, Kenya, South Sudan and Sudan. With more than 112 million people (2019), Ethiopia is the second fastest growing country in Africa after Nigeria. But it is also very poor, earning $ 850 per capita. Ethiopia plans to reach low-middle income level by 2025.
