This camelia is useful and unusual in that it is low growing and compact, and therefore handy for conatainer culture.

The decreasing amount of glacial meltwater, coupled with other climate change predictions, population growth, urbanisations trends, the growing importance of export-oriented largescale agriculture, mining, energy and electricity – all point to increasing needs and competition for water resources in the Andean countries (Drenkhan et al., 2015). Results from several studies (such as Carey et al., 2017; Rasmussen, 2016; Buytaert & Bièvre, 2012) highlight that demographic changes in the Andean countries – for example population growth – are likely to be more important for future water scenarios and adaptation strategies than reduced water resources as a result of climate change. This also emphasises the need for adaptation strategies to water stress and scarcity, irrespective of glacial melting trends and future precipitation scenarios (Vuille et al., 2018).

To commemorate the contribution of the Indian Army to World War One, the United Service Institution of India and the British High Commission jointly hosted a historical seminar on ‘India and the Great War in Research, Memory and Commemoration - Indian contribution to WW1’ on Friday, 9 November 2018 in New Delhi.
The event was supported by the UK National Army Museum and featured guest academic speakers from India, UK, Canada and Australia.

My contribution for week #6 of Miss Match, with a theme of fire. I was really afraid I couldn't pull this one off, but I had a happy accident. I just took a picture of our gas fireplace and then I saw what looked like a face....so I rotated the picture and there you have it. This is straight out the camera, folks. All I did was rotate it. What do you see?

My contribution to the canon of Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis) photos. I usually use a 100mm macro, but this will often not allow enough working distance for dragonflies--they tend to take off just as I get close enough. (That's why people like the 180mm macros, but I do not have one.) Today I put a 25 mm extension tube on my 300mm lens, giving it the ability to get about a 1:3-1:2 magnification--not quite macro, but good for large insects. The minimum working distance is about 3 feet from the front of the lens--usually enough to keep the dragonflies calm. (The lens gives a 1:4 magnification at about 4.5 feet without an extension tube--very good, but not quite enough for smaller dragonflies.) A tripod is very helpful for this sort of thing, and used in these shots. (I found a good used ballhead and that has made a world of difference in my ability to use the tripod--should have got one years ago. No more struggling with cheap tripod heads that won't stay on target!) I'm generally happy with the results, though there was a lot of wind today, and it was hard to focus when they perched on grass. This rig may help alleviate my occasional desire for a 180mm macro!

My contribution to Aquajune2026 is this vicious little Aquaraiders sub. Aquazone is my close-second favorite Lego theme, and I'm especially fond of the villain factions. With angry eyes, spikes, and teeth, their vehicle designs are campier and more overtly sinister than the villains of Lego space. It's a lot of fun to build in this style! The seed part of the design was the neon-yellow buzzsaws which seemed perfect weapons for an Aquaraiders moc.

Picture Contribution 2: Supernatural Perspectives on Psychological Disorders
This is a metaphoric illustration I am very proud of, so I am more than happy to enrich our course content with it; my post on Padlet featuring this illustration received a very encouraging comment by a fellow student that further inspired me to offer this picture as part of future coursework. My illustration features a werewolf, which is a creature that was used by ancient people to explain psychological disorders, and can be included in the section on supernatural perspectives on psychological disorders. My illustration increases the diversity of our course content in three ways: providing a metaphor for the history of psychology, featuring a racially-diverse (no exact race specified, but clearly not a white male) character, and raising awareness about how those with psychological disorders were perceived in the past and urging society to improve our treatment of them.

As a contribution to the legacy of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the presidency of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture and Europeana wanted to highlight the relevance of digital cultural heritage to the aims of the European Union during the next multiannual framework. During this two day event in Varna on May 28-29, 62 participants from 21 countries explored this together with experts and representatives of ministries of culture across Europe and draft a vision that expresses this contribution in concrete terms. Huffington Award Dinner on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the River Oaks Country Club. Former CEO of PepsiCo Indra Nooyi was the 2022 recipient of the Roy M. Huffington Award for Contributions to International Understanding, the highest honor granted by Asia Society Texas.
The outstanding contribution made by the people of the Netherlands to the technology of handling water is admirably demonstrated by the installations in the Kinderdijk-Elshout area. Construction of hydraulic works for the drainage of land for agriculture and settlement began in the Middle Ages and have continued uninterruptedly to the present day. The site illustrates all the typical features associated with this technology – dykes, reservoirs, pumping stations, administrative buildings and a series of beautifully preserved windmills. The first and inaugural Kilcock Kilomarathon 2012 was held at Kilcock, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 30th September 2012 at 11:00. The kilomarathon is approximately 26.3 kilometers (a little over 16 miles). The race started and ended in Kilcock GAA club and took a left turn route out to Newtown, then Donadea The Range, Tirmoghan, and returning back via the Clane Road Roundabout to Kilcock GAA. The course was a testing course but good preparation for the Dublin City Marathon. The Kilcock GAA club and Kilcock Athletic Club deserve praise on a very well organised event - good stewarding, an accurately marked route, good after race facilities and refreshments. The race was timed by precision timing.

The Bohermeen AC Patrick Bell 5KM Road Race, Jog, Walk, and Fun Run was held at Bohermeen AC, Ardbracan, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland on Saturday 8th June 2013 at 19:30. The race was held in very warm sunshine with little or no breeze - the most perfect summer evening. The race commemorates Patrick Bell, the late Bohermeen clubman who died tragically in the summer of 1985 following a traffic accident, whilst returning home from Cork having competed in the National track championships. The wonderful atmosphere, the great racing and participation, the work by the club, Meath Athletics, the local community, and the wonderful weather is, yet again, a fitting tribute to Patrick's memory and his contribution to Athletics in Ireland. Congratulations to everyone involved. Everything that is good about grassroots athletics and running in Ireland was on show in Bohermeen tonight.
This is a set of photographs from the start and the end of the race.
The race starts justs meters away from the Bohermeen AC track and makes a right handed course around some beautiful rural country roads and turns back to Bohermeen Village and then back for the final kilometer which is straight to the track and the finish on about 60 meters of athletics track.
Last year (2012) almost 750 people took part in the event this was better again this year with over 800 taking part.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 800 people took part in tonight's race with runners, joggers, walkers, and families involved.
Weather: A perfect summer's evening with temperatures around 20C.
Course: This is a very fast flat course. The course is right handed and starts and finishes at the Bohermeen Community Center and Athletics Track.
Location Map: Start/finish area on Google StreetView [goo.gl/maps/WWTgD] are inside the parklands and trails
Refreshments: The folks at Bohermeen AC and the local community host a barbeque, cook-out, and entertainment, as turf fires burn late into the night. One of the best after race atmospheres you are likely to find in Ireland.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase.
