Different sequences providing varied camera movement enabled me to make some interesting compositions which I had not expected.
The top collage is a from footage of a follow shot with a slow pan. The tracking camera movement stretches the composition and elongates the box that Geoff jumped onto creating an almost panoramic image.
The bottom collage was created with stills from a whip pan. In addition I used a fish eye lens which is evident from distortion in the centre of the collage.
Last Spring I took a class at a local community college on Traditional Wet Masonry. We are building a curved wall as a part of a memorial. We laid the block, mixed the mortar, split the stones, and placed the stone and mortar. This is my section of the wall in progress. It is a pleasure to learn this craft.
Splitting stones is much harder than you might imagine. But when it goes, wow, what a great feeling.
