The thirty Class 67 locomotives were built in Spain from 1999 to 2000 for EWS-operated mail services. The locomotives were immediately nicknamed “skips” for obvious reasons. However, in mid-2003, EWS lost the mail contract and the Class 67s largely became redundant, despite being only five years old. Since then they have been used on a variety of duties including freight, the Royal Train, sleeper trains and normal passenger duties.
67013 is seen here at Bristol in 2007 looking a bit redundant. The sign “For Sale, 1 Owner” in the windscreen might have been more effective if she had been parked in a lay-by on a busy A-Road. However, in 2008 she was repainted silver, named "Dyfrbont Pontcysyllte" (Pontcysyllte Aquaduct) and put to work on the Wrexham & Shropshire Railway.
In the background on the left is the derelict Parcelforce building in Cattle Market Road and on the right in the distance are the spires of Temple Meads Station. A small group of Class 37s can also be seen in the background, waiting for their last journey, to the scrapyard.
Adtranz (Derby) Class 168/0 "Clubman" 4-car dmu No.168 004 of Chiltern Mainline at South Ruislip on a Birmingham (Snow Hill) - Marylebone service, 12/05/14.
The 442s were originally introduced in 1988 by Network South East and were based on the Mk3 carriages. In Feb 2017 they were withdrawn from the Gatwick Express services and stored. They were due to be re-introduced at the end of 2018 but after various technical issues and a few false starts they were re-introduced as refurbished units in early Jan 2020.

Class 90 electric locomotive, 90013 ex-Norwich 1P26 with a rake of refurbished mk3a stock heads towards London Liverpool Street at Chelmsford Station.
The carriages originally date from sometime between 1975-1988 and the loco from 1988... so this complete trainset is well over 20 years old..
CR 60 Class No. 14645 seen here in Crimson Lake livery at an unknown location. Designed by William Pickersgill in 1916 and were given the nickname "Greyback" by crews but it is debated on why this name was given. It could be because when in CR Blue, the hot boiler would burn the paint and thus making the top grey or it could be because of their sluggish & temperamental steaming capabilities which seems more likely given O.S. Nocks account of these locomotives. All made it into LMS ownership in 1923 with more being made under Hughes. The last 60 Class was withdrawn in 1953.

British Rail Class 350 25kV Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) 350372 shortly before boarding in anticipation for the 1W09 10:49 (10:49 RT) 'London Midland' London Euston- Birmingham New Street service train at Euston Station in London (UK).
The Class 350 is part of the Siemens Desiro family of EMU's.
Note the Dellner type coupling system at the front of the train. The Dellner Coupling is a version of the Scharfenberg coupler which connects pneumatics and electronics at the same point of contact.
The energy absorption technology in a Dellner Coupling allows collisions at speeds of up to 9 mph with no structural damage and up to 22 mph with deformation while the carriages remain on track.

Sainsbury's have very wisely insisted that their HTI sourced multi sets have a combination of licensed, unlicensed and generic castings rather than the 100% generic content found at most other retailers at least ensuring theres something worth seeking out in every set. Possibly the crowning glory of the HTI licensed range is this mighty Mercedes-Benz ML-Class which appeared at a time when most other major toy companies were still churning out the first generation. They did an admirable job in replicating it with its big high sided proportions and plenty of painted detailing and a surprisingly accurate interior too. Looking both modern and well polished in this vivid metallic blue hue this one can be found in a five vehicle set at Sainsbury's. Mint and boxed.
