A 4 car class 115 DMU sits under the trainshed at Marylebone in the days when the former Great Central Railway terminus was under threat of closure.
Class 47 47848 is pictured heading south through Newcastle Central en-route from Craigentinny to Derby Litchurch Lane on September 15th 2017.My first trip behind this locomotive was as 47068 during October 1981 on a Newcastle Central to Kings Cross run. It failed at Peterborough but I wasn't complaining as it was replaced by Class 31 31160. Four other trips followed between May 1999 and May 2002 all between Newcastle Central and Durham as 47848.
Class 24 24045 is pictured, awaiting its fate, at Swindon Works, on October 26th 1976. It was eventually cut-up in December of that year.
Preserved English Electric Type 3 Class 37 Co-Co diesel locomotive 37714 just outside Loughborough Central Station on the heritage Great Central Railway in Leicestershire (UK).
37714 was built at the English Electric Vulcan Foundry Newton le Willows as D6724 in August 1961.
The locomotive was previously operated by Direct Rail Services and was listed for disposal in May 2013 after a service life of 52 years. 37714 is now preserved by the Heavy Tractor Group at the GCR.
Class N was OSCA, but my copy of the Car Guide for Concours Sunday does not show N-15.

It was always a treat to catch one of these engines, and for quite a while solid sets were common.
Check out the boxcar stage left and a couple of tracks back, it looks like something Jesse James would rob.

Class 47 47401 Great Eastern comes out of the gloom of the New Street tunnels on Sunday 20/01/1986 working a Poole to Liverpool service the loco was exchanged here for Class 86 86224.

DB Class 66 No.66125 passes Dawlish,with the 11:42 Stoke Gifford Sidings to St Blazey working,on the 25th of August 2021.
Preserved English Electric Type 1 'Chopper' Class 20 Bo-Bo diesel locomotive 20205 with 20189 behind at Wymondham Abbey Halt on the Mid Norfolk Railway in Norfolk (UK).
20205 was built at the English Electric Vulcan Foundry Newton le Willows as British Railways Type 1 D8305 in 1967 and withdrawn from service on December 18th 1989.
The English Electric Type 1 Class 20 locomotives were first introduced onto British Railways in 1957.
20205 and 20189 were both guest locomotives at the MNR courtesy of Michael Owen and the Class 20 Locomotive Society.

English Electric Type 3 Class 37 Co-Co diesel locomotive 37405 as operated by Direct Rail Services pushing the DRS Abellio Greater Anglia Great Yarmouth- Norwich drags short set back into the dock at Norwich Station at the end of the Great Eastern Main Line in Norfolk (UK).
37405 was built at the English Electric Vulcan Foundry Newton le Willows and entered service as D6982 on May 13th 1965.

Freightliner Class 59 No.59204 passes Willand,with the 15:57 Exeter Riverside to Whatley Quarry working,on the 17th of January 2023.
The VT24 (class 624) 3-car DMU units were delivered between 1964 and 1968 being built jointly by MAN and Waggonfabrik Uerdingen. They were often used for fast regional and express trains in various parts of Germany. This changed gradually and by 1980 nearly all of the units were based in Osnabrück und Braunschweig, performing duties on regional and local lines. Regional and local passenger traffic in the Harz region was carried out almost exclusively by these trainsets, although the last members finished their days based at Osnabrück. On 2nd June 1972 an unidentified set is seen passing Michelau forming a southbound service to possibly Nuremburg I guess. Given the cost of transparency film at the time and my prime objective of seeking out steam traction, a transparency featuring a DB unit is something of a rarity in my collection!
