With the Birmingham BT Tower and The Rotunda in the background, London Midland Class 172 No. 172334 approaches Tyseley with the 14:55 Kidderminster to Dorridge service on 21st June 2016.

Approaching the Marsh Lane level crossing at North Lee is 121034 having come from Princes Risborough and heading for Aylesbury on 6.4.17.

I took a full day class from Jean Wells of The Stitchin' Post in Sisters, OR.

Amazing!

Preserved and mainline certified English Electric Type 1 Class 20 'Chopper' Bo-Bo diesel locomotive 20227 in a rather agreeable London Underground livery approaching Weybourne Station on the heritage North Norfolk Railway in Norfolk (UK).

20227 was the last Type 1 Class 20 locomotive built at the English Electric Vulcan Foundry Newton le Willows in 1968 and withdrawn from BR service in October 1990.

The English Electric Type 1 Class 20 locomotives which were first introduced in 1957 are one of the most enduring first generation diesels built with at least 22 units certified for mainline use in June 2016.

The locomotive is painted in LU livery in acknowledgement of its extensive engineering train work over the years on the Metropolitan Line and the London Underground's 150th anniversary in 2013.

20227 was a special guest locomotive for the summer 2016 season at the NNR courtesy of the Class 20 Locomotive Society.

The Sovremenny class destroyer is the principal anti-surface warship of the Russian Navy. The Soviet designation for the class was Project 956 Sarych (Buzzard).

Its primary role is to attack enemy warships while also providing sea and air defense for warships and transports under escort. It complements the Udaloy-class destroyers in anti-submarine operations.

It was used in the sovjet navy, later until today in the russian navy and China bought some vessels too, which are still in use there.

Have a look at the complete album.

A Class 37 heads the afternoon Lynemouth to North Blyth empty alumina tanks at Cambois, past the site of the MPD. I have no date for this one, it's from a roll of XP2 I found in the back of a file.

DB Class 66 No.66076 heads in the afternoon sun at Whiteball, with the Bescot Down Side to Laira T&R working,on the 3rd October 2015.

Travelled passenger to collect this at Plymouth Laira, Early 60s, Came back light engine over Dartmoor via Okehampton old Southern route to Exeter St Davids, Then up the bank to Central and Exmth jct. Our 1st diesel, (Steam crew) Quite exciting i remember! Went ok. PS, Ive since seen a picture of same engine at Lostwithiel in Cornwall, So it must of got about a bit later in its life! Hope someone gave it a friendly pat for me at the scrapyard. I think these 22s must of lasted into the 70s? But dont think any saved? I found them ok, We had a few at my later shed of Bath rd Bristol. But by 1965/6/7 it was mostly 1000 (Wstn) or 800 (Wrship) stuff, plus other sorts. (22s Dainty) My 1st diesel. Im trying to get permission from the chap that took the photo so i can put it in a Group!.. PPS, My first thought of date was 1961 or 2? But as Exmth jct shed (southern) went Western region late in 63, I would rethink early 1964? And its at Exeter St Davids im sure, As i remember the event! It was a memerable time, Changing traction from steam! Well i thought so. Big difference to driving, And their types of train heating boilers to fathom. Woomph, LOL. Hot n noisy when screaming at high speed LOL. Specially the 1000s. You feel obliged to go back though looking for anything untoward like fire, Sit in the back cab for a minute to calm down! Thinking what the hell have i got myself into here? Single manning forced many, many redundancies in 1967!! Now a New road to ponder, A different career to pay the mortgage!!. And beer nearly 2 bob a pint. And close on 20quid for an engagement ring. A pint today costs more than i got for a weeks wages when i started off as a cleaner, Budding fireman all those years ago? I dont half yap on so! sorry.

Twenty-six 24 Class locomotives were manufactured by Toshiba Electric Co in Japan and introduced to run on the mainline for Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) in 1987. The 24 Class locomotives were commonly seen hauling both the passenger express services and freight from the heart of Singapore to Malaysia. The twenty-six 24 Class locomotives were named after heroes and warriors from Malay folklore.

This KTMB 24 Class Model is controlled by 1x PFx Brick and powered by 1x PF L-motor with lights and sounds.

With all these models completed, I thought it would be a good time to have a 'photoshoot'. Taken after the Singapore Brickfest 2021.

A southbound London Overground class 378 unit comes out of a tunnel into an essentially white scene at Wapping station on the East London Line.

As well as the white wall on the right, there is a fair sprinkling of white grit salt on the narrow platform. This is applied because although the stretch of the line between Surrey Quays and Whitechapel is below ground (and of course the River Thames), a small part of the northen end of the platform is exposed to the weather. This shot was taken on the last day of a week long cold snap across the British Isles.

British Railways Type 2 'Baby Warship' B-B diesel hydraulic locomotive (British Rail Class 22) D6300 outside Swindon Works in Wiltshire (UK) on October 4th 1960.

D6300 was built for British Railways by the North British Locomotive Company (NBL) at Glasgow in January 1959 and prematurely withdrawn from service on May 26th 1968 as a non standard BR diesel hydraulic design.

D6300 was declared 'cut up' at Cashmores Yard at Newport Wales by December 1968.

All 58 North British Locomotive Company Class 22 locomotives built were scrapped.

The North British Locomotive Company didn't fare much better than their locomotives either and the business was declared bankrupt by 1962.

These Type 2 Class 22 locomotives should not be confused with the similar looking Class 21, Class 20/2 or Class 41 'Warship' diesel hydraulic locomotives.

British Rail Class 08 0-6-0 diesel electric shunter 08836 at Ongar Station on the heritage Epping Ongar Railway (EOR) in Essex (UK).

08836 entered service as D4004 on November 11th 1960 and remains in service some 55 years later at Old Oak Common Traction and Rolling Stock Maintenance Depot (2015).

08836 was a guest locomotive at the EOR courtesy of First Great Western Ltd.

The 08 (09/10/11) shunter 0-6-0 design was based on the LMS Class D3/7 shunter of 1939 and LMS 12033 shunter series for the war department in early 1945 so it's safe to assume the basic body design you see here dates from the late 1930s.
