I catalogued this as a "class 302 coach on display". Was it a refurbished coach being shown to the BR Board (the HQ was nearby)? Seems it was, see below. The number doesn't make much sense! March 1980.

Witton station is functional, perhaps that is the strength of the place. The station served two important functions it was the station for Villa Park, the home of Aston Villa FC, millions of supporters have set foot on these platforms. The other use was for workers, when Britain made goods the Aston/Witton area was packed with factories during wartime Kynoch were at full stretch making ammunition. Today most of the factories have long gone leaving residual industry like car scrap yards.

Class 27 1300 chuffs merrily on it's way to Weybourne from Sheringham, on the North Norfolk Railway. April 2009.
Just to add a little spice to the day, this lovely great Grid trundled down the freight line with the 10:29 Pinnox Branch - Crewe Basford Hall working. The wagons appear to be empty, so I'm assuming this is a return working.
The 56 made the total locomotive class variety seen at this location a rather impressive eight (and that includes counting the Class 66/0, /4, /5, /6, and 7 as one class!).
The railway station at Ilanz was undergoing major works when I visited in October 2018 with only one side of the new island platform being in use for passenger trains. Appropriately, RhB Class Ge 4/4" 617 'Ilanz' was working Regio Express RE1740, the 12:44 Disentis/Mustér to Scuol-Tarasp. The Valser branded wagons on the right had not long arrived on a freight service from Landquart.
