Although the planned withdrawal of the 'Castle Class 255' 4+2 HSTs on timetabled services was to be by the end of 2023, this was subsequently revised, enabling a small number of sets to continue in use on GWR diagrams into 2024. On 22nd September 2023 just one class 1 diagram remained, the 1G77 15:50 Penzance to Bristol Temple Meads, with 43155 'Rougement Castle' (with 43153 'Chûn Castle powering on the rear) rolls into Taunton shortly after sunset. 43155 (with 43154) was acquired by West Coast Railway Company and moved to Carnforth on 31st July 2025.

Class 67 67024 continues to operate in less than pristine external condition but has at least had a partial clean of the most important part of the locomotive - the number! - and was pictured in the 'Thunderbird' siding at Newcastle Central on January 16th 2017.

654L, Dalston Oil Terminal. - Grangemouth Ineos Refinery. Colas loco 60026 snakes its way down through Fouldubs, Grangemouth, with a rake of empty fuel tanks, heading to the Ineos Refinery.
Class 60 No. 60076 passes Eaglescliffe with a train of empty biomass hoppers from Drax to Tyne Coal Terminal on 24th August 2021.

After the excitement of having 37425 & 37402 on this working with wagons over the previous two days, I found it rather disappointing to see this come round the corner!

Als Zuglok ist planmäßig eine ab 1973 bei MLW in Canada gebaute Lok der Reihe 1550 (MX-620) eingeteilt. Takargo hat 2019 drei dieser Maschinen bei der CP gekauft und wieder hergerichtet. Am 23.01.2024 konnte die 1565 mit dem mittäglichen Zug 65885 Penalva - Setúbal-Mar bei Pontes fotografiert werden.
Between Volkswagen Autoeuropa plant at Palmela (south of Lisbon) and the harbor of Setúbal Captrain Portugal (former takargo rail) is running three pairs of block trains a day with new build VW "T-Roc" automobiles. Normally the trains are hauled by MLW built class 1550 (series MX-620) diesel locos. In 2019 takargo rail bought three locomotives of this type from national Portuguese railway company CP. At January 23, 2024 loco 1565 can be seen near Pontes with the second loaded train of the day, 65885 Penalva - Setúbal-Mar.
