I just put a new polar scope in my NEQ6 and aligned the reticle properly so my polar alignment should be a little more accurate now. My old polar scope had a loose reticle so even though I was guiding my PA was off by just a bit. The way the polar scopes are designed you have to use 3 screws to adjust the reticle to the desired position and it is a bit of a headache so I was procrastinating doing it for a long time but I am really happy I finally did it and I did it properly! :)
The glass ball holding the "bubble gum balls" is approximately 3/4 inch in width and height. The hand is that of a Dawn doll, much smaller than a Barbie if you are unfamiliar with her.
The four photos show different distance ratios of my macro lens.
I played around with bubbles today with backdrops of my photography on my iphone in the background. I had started with a candle in the background to add light, and it eventually evolved into this.
Almost there! Back half of a bubble, mid-explosion.
I was originally trying to capture a side view of this, but I think I'll need to enlist an assistant for that. I don't have any depth perception while looking through the viewfinder so I have to sort of stab at the bubble, instead of sneaking up beside it.
What I like most about this shot is that It how lucky it was, I think if this had been my vision in the first place I would have never been able to get a shot like this.

Bubble making machine. Everyone needs one.
I took Hugo Boss perfume bottle in my one hand against a light, shook it and took the shot with other hand!! There is no PS work no layers at all ... and result is simply amamzing ..i just love the bubbles and diagonal arrangement and a distorted logo in the background due to liquid motion. Remember , its Canon A620, can focus objects as near as 1cm !!
My niece Kathryn (not Kathy if you please! LOL) caught at a moment when she did not know she was being photographed. This was at a family reunion in 2004 in Oklahoma City. Someone had brought bubbles for the kids to play with. They were all playing along the side of the pavillion we had reserved for the festivities and I had a strong telephoto lens on my 35mm in the middle of the pavillion just scanning around to get candids of everyone. I closed in on the kids and just then, Kathryn stepped back into the sunlight and I knew I had a great shot if only it turned out. I am NOT professional and what I know about F stops is that they are some function on the camera I have yet to discover. I only know I shoot what I like and thank the makers for putting that lovely green A for auto on the camera LOL. She seems like she is looking at me, but she was focused on the bubbles and the pure delight of being a kid surrounded by people she knows love her. I was actually about 30 feet or so away and in the shade.
Some of you that have viewed my husband (Wade In Tulsa)'s photo stream may or may not remember this image. When he talked me into creating my own account, this and several other images that I took he removed from his stream so I can post them here.
