I admit, the soap bubble isn't too sharp. But this was the only picture where you could see all the small droplets surrounding it.

Bubbles! I love looking at the bubbles trapped in the ice on my lake. In the last few days I was so entranced by the fantastic designs that I wandered into a hockey match and stumbled across an ice fishing hole. Luckily, no one was fishing at the hole.

Making O bubbles. I can only do one good one before I run out of air so it took a few to get it clean like this. Since I don't use a scuba tank.

A large boulder appears to dangle precariously off South Bubble Mountain in Acadia National Park just as it has for tens of thousands of years.

I've been sorting out my 2011 folders and I found this one from back in the Summer, it made me smile...I hope it makes you smile too:)

The Simple set up included my Canon on its tripod using the Macro Lense facing downwards into a Blue bowl of water, where i simply poured a bottle of water while taking shots.

These aren't actually bubbles... it's just a glass ball. I made this blue. :D

Other bubbles from my regulator.

Nikon 1 AW1

It was a large-ish bubble from a street seller 's bubble gadget so was not as hard to focus on as you might think.

This is a pic of water droplets that look like bubbles. It was taken on a blue lid faced to the light.

Vir philippinensis.

It's been many months since I last published a picture. Going from at least 1 per day to nothing was not what I wanted, although I have taken quite a few. Unfortunately, I haven't been well for the past few weeks and being stuck in the house is largely driving me nuts. To try and address this I bought a macro lens (Tokina 100mm f/2.8 AT-X) so that I could do something around the house when I was feeling able. This is one of my first shots with the new lens, which is of olive oil bubbles in a bowl with coloured paper underneath, something that I'd tried towards the end of last year. I'm not sure of the composition but, heck, it's just nice to get something out there again.

Ice on a lake, with frozen bubbles

Some time it is just fun to play with bubbles. The up stream side of the ford makes for some neat whirlpools.
