Week 2 - Minimalism

You know how it is, when you're sitting at work on your lunch break, and notice the bubbles in the hand sanitiser sitting on the table......

Everyone has a bubble shot, right?

Another shot from yesterday.

Im going away for a week so see you all next friday!!

Its so mesmerising to look at the genesis of millions of bubbles, their lives are short but they do give us pleasure. A thin membrane of reflection, a single form creating patterns in their millions, short timespan like our lives.

Bubbles, or…?

Love guys like this.

Found this housefly resting on a branch and blowing bubble in my rooftop garden.

The housefly (also house fly, house-fly or common housefly), Musca domestica, is a fly of the Brachycera suborder. It is the most common of all domestic flies, accounting for about 90% of all flies in human habitations, and indeed one of the most widely distributed insects, found all over the world; it is considered a pest that can carry serious diseases.

The adults are 8–12 mm long. Their thorax is gray, with four longitudinal dark lines on the back. The whole body is covered with hair-like projections. The females are slightly larger than the males, and have a much larger space between their red compound eyes. The mass of pupae can range from about 8 to 20 mg under different conditions.

Like other Diptera (meaning "two-winged"), houseflies have only one pair of wings; the hind pair is reduced to small halteres that aid in flight stability. Characteristically, the media vein (M1+2 or fourth long vein of the wing) shows a sharp upward bend.

Species that appear similar to the housefly include:

The lesser house fly, Fannia canicularis, is somewhat smaller, more slender, and the media vein is straight.

The stable fly, Stomoxys calcitrans, has piercing mouthparts and the media vein is only slightly curved.

A strange world found in the bathroom...

Zozo having fun blowing bubbles. Used the Oly 12-40 on the EM5 miii. I just love this camera for portraits of the grand kids. My R6ii is being fixed, it had a meltdown (I think they, that is canon may have a firmware problem with this that they aren't fessing up to), was pretty pissed about the timing but happy to use my trusty Oly. Used the G9 for video, omg it is awesome for stabe, I will be using it more.

Okay...does anybody know what makes these bubbles? I want to say it is a grasshopper...but I don't know!

Update - This is from a Spittle Bug! Thanks to limowreck666 and flowerchild6482 for the links below :^)

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Making O bubbles. I can only do one good one before I run out of air so it took a few to get it clean like this. Since I don't use a scuba tank.

Took these this morning, hopefully the temperature will drop so I can get some frozen ones next time.

I've decided to start posting on flickr again, though I'm going to turn off commenting and post lots and lots of photos - I don't have the time to spend here like I used to, so if you want to look just look, that's fine - I mostly post on Facebook now, the only problem with that is that the quality of photos is ruined - so if I want to share a link with how the original photo looked I now can through flickr.

I hope you are all keeping well, it's been a while.
